Teresa Giudice officially began her fifteen month prison sentence this morning at the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, Connecticut. She reportedly arrived at the prison at 3 A.M, approximately seven hours before she was scheduled to arrive. She probably thinks that she can start making a good impression by coming early on her first day, but I don’t think she realizes that this is not school, and coming early on the first day isn’t going to make a lick of difference in the long run. And it’s a little late for fixing her public image, no?
Anyway, Teresa’s lawyer, James J. Leonard Jr., told media, “She was ready. Teresa is a very strong woman, she won’t have any problems in there. When we arrived at Danbury, everyone we encountered was extremely courteous and respectful.”
And what is he supposed to say? ‘Teresa was terrified and shaking, and we thought that getting her here early might make a good impression?’ Leonard also spoke to ABC News about Teresa’s earlier-than-expected incarceration, and revealed that Teresa just wanted to get ‘this thing’ started as quickly as possible, and put it behind her as quickly as possible. Of course, he won’t mention the fact that avoiding the swarm of paparazzi at 10 A.M. was probably another huge factor in getting her there early. Teresa Giudice is a famewhore, sure, but she likes to be dressed to the nines for all of her unofficial and official photo ops. I don’t think no makeup, ratty hair, and a prison jumpsuit was in her to-do list for media appearances, and no doubt, she was hoping that surpassing all the hoopla around the regular timing might fix that little problem.
Teresa Giudice will be in prison for the next fifteen months, and I have no doubt that we’ll be getting at least weekly updates courtesy of The Real Housewives of New Jersey and/or her lawyer and/or her publicists. Don’t worry, they’re not going to let us forget that Teresa Giudice exists, even from prison.
