Teresa Giudice is tweeting from prison. Yes, dear CDL readers, your favorite jailed housewife is doing the Jailhouse rock on Twitter. Prisoners are usually not allowed to make contact with the outside world, except when contacting family members and/or dying. But this isn’t just any prisoner, is it?
Giudice, the notorious salmon-lipped star of Real Housewives of New Jersey, and her husband, Joe Giudice, committed fun fraud in their free time. After crying on walls and eating lawyers, Teresa and Joe settled for an interesting plea deal: Teresa and Joe would serve their sentences separately. A legal guardian has to stay with their children, and since Teresa’s 15-month sentence is shorter than Joe’s 41-month sentence, the latter Giudice decided to stay with the kids until Teresa is released.
Teresa, who’s probably using a go-between, tweeted, “Thank you everyone for all of the cards, letters, and kind words of support I love, love, love you all xo T!” The tweet went viral, Teresa got a nail-infused meatloaf from the prison chef, and all was well in the cell. Until the media caught wind of the tweet and scooped it up like it was John Travolta’s missing nose or something (eyes, ears, anything-face-related).
Should Teresa be allowed to use a proxy for her tweets? The jury is still out on that one. She didn’t transgress, so why the hate, haters? Cut the salmon-mouth some slack. She committed the crime and did the time. A shout-out tweet is an innocent reminder of Teresa’s infamy. The woman’s life revolved around Botox, Real Housewives, and money (some stolen, some earned). Now she’s all alone in a prison cell, singing Kumbaya with Bob The Female Builder and hiding her Achilles’ heels from Shawna “Shank” McGee.
