Scotty’s killer was ultimately revealed on tonight’s season finale of “the Affair”. However, before they got to juicy part, people had to finally be truthful about the night or in some cases the entire day in question.
Earlier Alison and Cole had gone into business together and so the night everyone had wondered about was also their grand reopening. And what an event it was. Not only did Alison and Cole work the whole summer on the restaurant, getting it ready, but on its first day it had been used to host Cole’s wedding reception.
So people had come out for it. Cole’s family, his new wife’s family, and funnily enough even Helen was there. She had come with her mother who apparently was considered family by the bride’s family. And therefore you would have expected that Noah and Margaret must have had a nasty run-in.
But that’s not what happened. Margaret had actually been nice to Noah and he in return. And they along with Helen were getting along just fine when Alison kind of burst their bubble.
She had walked over to them to offer them something. And her appearance put an end to things, Helen and Margaret had then gone off to work the room. Which was awkward. So Noah tried to cheer her up and put her back in the good mood. He showed video of Joanie from this summer and all it had done was make Alison feel guilty.
Alison had spent most of her summer in Montauk with Cole while Joanie had been with her dad. A dad that appeared to be taking joy in his daughter. Therefore the guilt eventually got to Alison and she had broken down during Cole’s wedding.
In fact she had been so distraught that she had walked off and Noah had followed her. But after he did, Alison had come clean with him. She had told him that there was a chance he might not be Joanie’s father.
And so Noah couldn’t stand to be around her.
He went back to the restaurant and had gotten drunk. So drunk that Helen had to take him out of there and the two wandered down to the beach. And the two then talked about everything. Like how Joanie could be Cole’s and that at first Noah hadn’t even wanted the baby because he felt Alison had used the baby as a chance to trap him.
And once they were finished talking about the mess Noah had made of his life, they were ready to return to their respective places for the night. But they had both been drunk and Noah had felt he was too far gone. So he had handed over the keys to Helen and she had been the one to hit Scotty.
At first she had thought she had hit a deer but Noah knew differently. So he had gone out to check and had seen for himself that she had run over Scotty Lockhart. However he didn’t want her to get into trouble because of it.
So he dropped Helen off and had told her that he would handle it. And he did. Though in present times, he was standing trial for a hit and run. And his lawyer was asking for permission to question Alison as a possible suspect.
Now Alison had spent most of the day at her restaurant grand reopening trying to put out fires. She had talked Cole out of his wedding jitters and she actually had to deal with Scotty.
Scotty had threatened her on the night he died.
He had been led to believe that he would be a part owner in the Lobster Roll and so he didn’t take it too well when Cole had informed him differently. In fact he had wanted to hurt Cole by telling everyone that Joanie was his and therefore he had initially given Alison a choice. He had told Alison that she could do honors or he will be forced to.
But then Scotty began to drink and so he had a change of heart. He wanted Alison to let him on the business in exchange for his silence. And when she had refused him, he had then tried to rape her on the side of the road.
Alison was forced to push him off her and into the road. And that’s when Helen hit him with the car. So now you know that Noah had been protecting both women that night.
And unfortunately he had continued to do so by confessing that he had been the one to hit Scotty.
THE END!
