Tonight’s episode of The Bachelor kicks off at Chris Soules’s house – he has a surprise visitor. Jimmy Kimmel sneaks in to his house and wakes Chris up out of a sound sleep. He tells Chris that he has “come to help him,” and then gives him a cup of coffee and tells him to get out of bed. Meanwhile at the Bachelor mansion, Chris Harrison informs the girls that there will “be a new man in their lives this weeks.” Jimmy Kimmel walks through the door – and all the girls squeal. Jimmy explains to the girls that Chris is a very busy man, so he will be helping him plan his dates this weeks. Jimmy says that there is a new rule in the house, and every time someone says the word “amazing” they have to put a $1.00 in the “Amazing Jar.”
Jimmy and Chris Harrison give the girls their date card and leave. They open the date card, it’s a 1-on-1 date with Kaitlyn teasing that she and Chris are going to join an “exclusive club.” Kaitlyn rushes upstairs like a giddy school girl to get ready for her date. She heads out in a limo with Chris Soules, and neither of them have any idea what kind of date Jimmy Kimmel has planned for them.
Kaitlyn and Chris are shocked when their limo pulls up to Costco. The driver gives them another note from Jimmy Kimmel – he gives them a random shopping list and tells them to pick up enough ketchup to fill a hot tub, a tub of mayonnaise, a pair of size 33 jeans, and to get supplies to make him dinner later that night. Chris is happy with how down to earth Kaitlyn is, and how much fun they have shopping together. They head back to Chris’s house and begin cooking dinner for Jimmy.
Jimmy Kimmel arrives and interrupts Chris and Kaitlyn’s make-out session. Chris cooks some steak on the grill for their dinner while Jimmy chats with Kaitlyn. She explains to Jimmy that she has dated a farmer before, they sit down to eat and Jimmy brings up the fantasy suite. He asks Kaitlyn what she will do if Chris “makes sweet sweet love” to three other girls in the fantasy suite. Kaitlyn laughs that she wouldn’t care because it is part of the process, and you can’t buy a car before you take it out for a test drive. Jimmy says that Chris is The Bachelor, “so it is his divine mission to laugh a lot of sex.” Back at the mansion another date card arrives, Britt, Julian, Becca, Tracy, Maxkenzie, Kelsie, Amber, Ashley S., and Carly are headed out on a group date to meet “some real party animals.”
Meanwhile, on Kaitlyn’s date Chris Soules gives her the date rose and tries to make a sweet speech, however Jimmy Kimmel keeps interrupting him and telling him how horrible his communication skills are. Kaitlyn accepts the rose and she and Chris lean over Jimmy and share a kiss. Chris laughs that Jimmy Kimmel is the “best third wheel that anyone could ask for.” Jimmy finally leaves and Chris and Kaitlyn get in the hot tub together.
The next morning it is time for the group date Jimmy Kimmel stops by the mansion to pick up the girls and takes them to the “Hoedown Throw Down” to test their farm skills to see if they will make a goof wife to Farmer Chris. The girls will have to race through an obstacle course and husk 15 ears of corn, getting eggs out of a coop and frying them, milking a goat, drinking the goat’s milk, shoveling manure, and wrestling a greased pig. Whoever finishes the entire course without being eliminated will be the winner of Chris’s heart.
The girls line up, and Jimmy blows the whistle and the race is on. Jillian quickly takes the lead, and finishes her corn and rushes to the chicken pen. Mackenzie is in 2nd place, but she breaks her egg while she is frying it and is disqualified. Carly is determined to win and make Chris notice her, even though she is lactose intolerant she chugs the goat’s milk. Kelsey gets caught up at the goat milking station, and gags as she tries to drink the full glass of milk. The final four girls hop in the pigs pen and begin trying to wrestle down the greased pigs – Carly is the first to catch the pig and wins the competition – Jimmy gives her a blue ribbon. Afterwards Carly and Chris dress up and take photos dressed as the farmer and his wife in “American Gothic.”
After the farmer obstacle course, Chris and all of the girls have some drinks together. Carly steals some alone time with Chris and immediately starts kissing Chris – he doesn’t seem to mind though. Then, Chris makes out with three more girls. Mackenzie is upset, because she was the first girl that Chris kissed – and now that he has kissed every single other girl she feels like it didn’t mean anything. Mackenzie sits down with Chris and demand to know why he is kissing so many girls – Chris obviously feels uncomfortable and tries to explain that he is being open and trying to get to know everyone.
Becca feels the same way that Mackenzie does and during her 1-on-1 time with The Bachelor she announces that she is not going to kiss him because he has kissed everyone else and she wants their first kiss to be special. Meanwhile, back at the Bachelor house another 1-on-1 date card arrives and reveals that tomorrow Chris will be spending the day with Whitney.
Back on the group date, the girls all gather around so that Chris can hand out the group date rose. All of the girls are confident that the rose is theirs, especially Carly since she won the obstacle course and gave it her all. Chris announces that he is giving the rose to someone he “has a connection with” – and shocked everyone when he gives it to Becca.
The next day Whitney heads out on her 1-on-1 date with Chris and they arrive at a winery. They have a romantic picnic and get to know each other while they sip wine. They see a wedding at the winery, and decide that they should crash it. They rush back to the house and change, and Whitney puts on an engagement ring. They tell everyone at the wedding that they are engaged – and no one seems to realize that they don’t actually know the bride and groom. Chris is impressed with how well Whitney fits in and chats up the strangers at the wedding. They head out on the dance floor and slow dance and kiss – Whitney gushes about how real their connection is with each other. Before they leave the wedding, Chris presents Whitney with a rose.
The next day Chris and Jimmy Kimmel head to the Bachelor Mansion and announce to the girls that they are not having a cocktail party and they are going to have a pool party before the rose ceremony. All of the girls pile in to the pool with Chris, Julia manages to steal him away for some alone time and she share a heart-breaking story with him about how her husband committed suicide and Chris comforts her. He reassures Julia that she is the strong and her daughter will be okay because she has such a great mom.
After Chris’s chat with Julia, the rest of the girls fight for some time with him before the Rose ceremony. Jade convinces Chris to take her down the driveway to his house so that she can have a tour – they talk to each other 1-on-1 and get to know each other a little better and then decide to “test his bed,” meanwhile Jillian waits outside in Chris’s hot tub waiting for him to come outside so that she can still him. Chris joins Jillian in the hot tub, and several other girls try to steal him away – but Jillian refuses to share The Bachelor and infuriates the other girls who are scared that if they don’t spend time with Chris they will be sent home.
It’s finally time for the rose ceremony, Kaitlyn, Becca, and Whitney already received roses so theyare safe this week. The ladies line up and Chris hands out roses to: Jade, Samantha, Juelia, Mackenzie, Kelsie, Britt, Meghan, Carly, Ashley S, Nikki, Jillian, and Ashley I. Chris does not give Amber, Tracy, or Trina a rose – and they are officially eliminated from Season 19.
