The Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers: B&B Blackmail and Budding Romance – Wedding Fallout and Confrontation

The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers present the recap and fan conclusions for the week that was and the implications for next week’s B&B from August 17 – 21. This week ending August 14, The Bold and the Beautiful centered on weddings and confrontations. Rick Forrester (Jacob Young) and Maya Avant (Karla Mosely) were finally joined in holy matrimony, but this wedding was definitely not without its high drama as there was a huge confrontation between Maya and her father Julius (Obba Babalunde) over a conversation between him and Maya’s mother Vivienne (Anna Maria Horseford) during which he referred to his daughter as a freak and drove her to tears before she walked down the aisle to her husband to be. Maya allowed her father to walk her down the aisle despite what she overheard, but stopped the ceremony to confront him and ask him to leave telling him that since he could not support her in her choices in life she did not want him to be a part of the happiest day of her life.

Okay folks I have to tell you on the one hand I am glad the wedding is over simply because I get a break from these two characters. As far as the whole set up for the wedding it wasn’t realistic. If Maya overheard the conversation why would she allow her father to walk her down the aisle rather than confronting him beforehand and asking him to leave and simply having her mother walk her down the aisle? Instead she stops the whole ceremony and confronts him in front of everyone further embarrassing herself.

I also thought it was tacky to have Rick and Maya marry in the same place that he married Caroline. I mean really couldn’t they have married in the garden at Brooke’s (Katherine Kelly Lang) house? I also thought that Eric’s (John McCook) speech about Maya making Rick the man he was today was ironic because if Eric was proud that his son was a mean, lying cheater then that was sad.

We are also starting to see Ivy’s (Ashleigh Brewer) true colors. She has been referred to as “Poison Ivy” and this is starting to ring truer and truer. Since Aly’s (Ashlynn Pearce) death and losing Liam (Scott Clifton) to Steffy (Jacqueline Maccinnes Woods) Ivy has shed her good girl image and I have to say that she may be taking it a bit too far. While she has always been able to stand up for herself and would never back down from anyone now she is taking advantage of tragedy for personal gain and that is just wrong.

There is also the issue of Ivy’s new relationship with Wyatt (Darin Brooks) I must admit I do love the two of them together. It seems that Ivy may have finally found someone that has a genuine interest in her. She has been chasing Liam for so long trying to get him to pay attention to her and now she may finally have a chance to be happy with someone who is all about her.
