Tonight’s episode of The Good Wife kicks off with Alicia holding a press-conference, she announces that she is officially resigning from state’s attorney, and says that it is detrimental to Cook County that she resign from candidacy. Alicia gets choked up and rushes off the stage, Peter follows her to comfort her.

In court Judge Coleman announces that an elderly woman named Mrs. Nolte is guilty and is facing a mandatory sentencing for the number of pills in her possession – Diane watches from inside the court room. Afterward she meets with Cary and her team. She says that Mrs. Nolte was trying to mail 26 ecstasy pills at the post office and that was why she was arrested, she begs Artie to meet with Mrs. Nolte. Artie scoffs that he already knows Diane is going to defend the Grandma whether he meets with her or not.
Alicia heads to the office and meets with Diane and Cary – they offer their condolences for her resignation. They meet with the other partners and Cary announces that after careful consideration they have decided to invite her back as a partner. Alicia is thrilled, she asks David if he is okay with her coming back. Diane tells her “welcome home” and says to bring her lawyer back in to negotiate her exit package.

After their meeting Cary heads to his office and calls Geneva Pines, he says that he though it over and he will give up evidence against Bishop. He says that he will only agree to do it if she agrees not to press charges against Kalinda. Meanwhile, Kalinda is meeting with Pines. After she hangs up Kalinda tells her not to make a deal with Cary, she doesn’t want him to testify – she is going to get the evidence that the DA needs against Bishop.

Later that night Alicia is at home relaxing with her daughter and watches a black and white movie about lawyers. Grace asks her mom about being a lawyer, and Alicia reveals that she is returning to the law firm – Grave raves that is a great idea. Alicia’s phone goes off, it’s Mr. Gallagher – she tells him that she is returning to the law firm. Gallagher says there must be a misunderstanding because Diane just called him and told him that Alicia is NOT returning to the law firm.

Alicia fills Peter in on the law firm – he tells her not to worry about, he thinks that she should forget about the firm and use her exit package to start her own firm. He tells her to meet up with Diane and pretend she doesn’t know that they are playing her and to get more money out of her exit package.

The next day Kalinda gets to work on Bishop, she meets with his right-hand man Dex and tells him that Bishop is quitting the business and turning evidence, he doesn’t want to go to jail. Dex doesn’t buy it, he tells her to get out of the car and thinks it is a test to see if he will rat out Bishop. Alicia and Flynn meet with Diane, Cary, and David Lee to discuss her exit package. Alicia and Flynn are certain that they are playing her but they have it all wrong. After the meeting Diane tells Cary to start calling Alicia’s clients and telling them that she is returning to the firm.

Diane and Artie meet with Mrs. Nolte’s public defend Bellinger – he struggles to find Louise’s file in his messy briefcase. She demands to know why Bellinger didn’t try to fight Louise’s charges – he tells Diane that they have video evidence ta the post office that showed Louise mailing the package. Bellinger says that if she was a drug addict then she would never have to go to jail – she could go to rehab instead. But, unfortunately she is a Grandma and not your typical street criminal so it will be tough to convince the judge to send her to rehab.

David Lee gets to work calling Alicia’s clients to tell them that Alicia is returning. David calls Gallagher and he says that Alicia is returning – Gallagher says that is ironic because he is on the other line with Alicia and she is saying that she is starting her own firm. David rushes and tells Diane and Cary that she is playing them and starting her own firm.

Kalinda picks up Bishop’s son Dylan from school and takes him home – but Bishop isn’t home yet. She send Dylan upstairs and then sits down at Bishop’s computer and begins copying all of his files to a flashdrive. Bishop returns home and she rushes off the computer, she says she stayed at his house because she didn’t want to leave his son home alone. Bishop sends her home and gets on her computer, he sees an error message on his laptop and realizes that Kalinda was going through his computer.

The next day Kalinda brings Dylan home from school and Bishop is waiting for her – he begins questioning her about whether or not she went in to his study and was on his computer. He calls Dexter, he had someone looks at his computer and it had Dexter’s name on the flashdrive. Kalinda’s plan worked, Bishop thinks Dexter is the one that stole his files. Kalinda takes Dexter’s flashdrive and hands it over to Geneva Pines – she tells her that it has everything on it she needs to take Bishop down and she doesn’t want anyone to know she is the one that ratted him out.

At the office Diane learns that Alicia tried to poach more of her clients she confronts Alicia and they have a major blow-up. They both scream at each other and accuse each other of trying to betray them, Diane kicks Alicia out of the firm and tells her not to come back. At Bishop’s house the police storm in, they have a warrant for his arrest from Geneva Pines.

Diane is still trying to get Mrs. Nolte in to rehab instead of prison, she takes Mrs. Nolte to meet with the social worker. The social worker isn’t buying it though – she can tell the old woman is not a drug addict, she informs Diane she can’t recommend a rehab for her.

Cary is furious when he hears that Geneva used Kalinda’s evidence – he scoffs that she is going to get her killed. He tells Dexter that Kalinda didn’t turn on Bishop, he insists he gave the flashdrive to Geneva. Dexter isn’t buying it – he knows Kalinda was the one in his car and she is responsible. Kalinda returns home and Cary is waiting for her, he tells her about his talk with Dexter.

Kalinda is not happy, she doesn’t want Cary to get in trouble with Bishop.

Kalinda calls Alicia and asks her why she is poaching clients – Alicia rants that Diane started poaching her clients first. Klainda clears up the entire misunderstanding and Alicia realizes that Diane wasn’t playing her. Alicia pays Diane a visit at her office later that night, she tells her that they need to talk. Meanwhile, Kalinda goes to Alicia’s house to see her and her daughter Grace says that she is out – she invites Kalinda in and she spies a picture on the mantle of Peter and Alicia with the kids and another photo that she took of Alicia the day that she was named partner at the firm.

Diane calls Kalinda on her phone – she tells Diane that she has information on Mrs. Nolte’s case, apparently there is something wrong with the lab report. Diane says that she will take care of it tomorrow and Kalinda says she won’t be in to work. Diane can tell that something is not right with Kalinda – but she insists that she is okay. Kalinda hangs up and leaves a letter for Alicia with Grace – then she says that she has to go.

The next day Diane heads to court with the lab report that Kalinda got her – there was a misunderstanding and the pills that Louise had were cut in half, so she actually only was in possession of 13 pills which is less than the 15 pill threshold. The judge is happy to dismiss the charges against Mrs. Nolte. Diane heads back to the office and Artie is throwing a fit – he says that if they bring Alicia back to the firm then he is going to have to walk, he can’t be associated with a corrupt member of the Florrick Family.

Cary is at the office, he is getting upset because no one can get a hold of Kalinda. He calls her cell phone and it has been disconnected, he heads to her house and it is completely empty, Kalinda moved out in the middle of the night – Kalinda is gone.
