Rebekah dreams of the door and the glass coffin. She sees the name Freya spelled out in her word tiles. She sees a screaming child taken away in ancient times. Someone is in her room staring at her as she twitches in her sleep. Klaus turns up at the wolf camp in the swamp and asks for their queen. He essentially threatens the children. Hayley is skipping stones on the lake when Jack finds her and says he was worried that she ran off.
Hayley tells him that she can’t divulge her big secret because it’s not safe. Jack says it’s never been safe and says this wedding can change all that. He says the new pack will keep them safe. He says without the secrets, her power can’t be transferred to the pack. He says he needs to tell her something even if they call it off. Hayley says his secrets can’t be anything like hers. He says it has to do with how her parents died.
At the witch house, Rebekah roams and admits she was caught out past curfew again. Rebekah tells Cassie that they just need enough power to bust the spell loose. She says there’s a strong witch asleep in a coffin and they can channel her power to bust loose. There’s a new girl watching TV and Rebekah asks about her. The girl is watching cartoons and says the paintings are moving and Rebekah asks if she knows her from somewhere.
Davina wakes to find Kol tinkering and asks if she’s ready to get started. He says he’s been planning this for over a century. He asks if she’s having second thoughts but she says she’s beyond those. Her phone buzzes and she sees it’s calls from Aiden says Josh and Marcel are missing. We see that Finn has those two and has added them to his witch circle with his parents. Finn talks to an unconscious Marcel and says it’s his fault.
He says Marcel is the closest thing Klaus has ever had to a friend and wonders how he can get his secrets from Marcel’s head. Klaus shows up at Mary’s and asks to be invited in. She’s not having it even when he says he’s part wolf. He says since she won’t help, he’ll hunt Hayley and Jack down himself and takes off with a leer. Jack and Hayley are in the woods and he shows her a place where the bury wolves that walk away from the pack. One of them was his grandfather and Mary’s husband.
He says he was hell-bent on war with the vampires. He says when he heard that Hayley’s parents were trying for peace with the vamps, he went ballistic. She asks if he killed her parents and he admits that he did. Hayley says she has spent her whole life wondering what happened to them and asks why he never told her before now. He says Mary just told him and said it was time for it to come out. He tells her he wasn’t sure if he could tell her and she says she gets that.
Hayley says she really hates secrets. He says that was his and whatever hers is, she doesn’t have to tell him. He says it won’t change how he feels about her. Klaus creeps up on them and says it’s romantic. He says he’d like to speak to Hayley. She tells Jack that she’ll meet him back at Mary’s. Rebekah tells Cassie that tonight’s the night. One of the kindred finds the new girl with an apple.
Rebekah stops them and one cuts into her hand. They then snatch off the new girl’s necklace and says if they take from them, they’ll take double back. The new girl asks why she helped and Rebekah says they have to stick together. Klaus tells Hayley she can’t tell any secrets that will endanger Hope. Hayley says Finn is gaining more power and the risk could pay off. She says they could have an army of super wolves protecting Hope.
She curses at him and says this is there chance to bring her home and they have to at least consider it. He says he did and it won’t happen. He tells her to tell Jackson that the wedding is off. She says she doesn’t take order from anyone, least of all him. Aiden shows up to see Davina and Kol and he brings things that Josh left at his place so she can do a tracking spell. She starts it but then Kol grabs her hands and says they can do it faster together.
Kol says he’s at a little bodega the witch used to own before his mom hijacked her body. Aiden goes to leave but Davina says it’s a suicide mission. Davina won’t let him go alone. The kindred woman goes upstairs and hears a noise. She looks at the mystery door which slowly creaks open. She goes to it and then she’s magically hauled inside and the door slams shut. Hayley and Klaus argue more and she says it was his mother that tried to kill their daughter.
She says Hope will always be the daughter of Klaus, the hybrid with 1,000 enemies. She says he’s the threat and he can’t see it. He says the wolves can’t be trusted but she says that’s his paranoia. He says he killed his father to protect the secret. She says maybe that’s why he killed him or maybe it’s just because he can’t let anyone close to him. She says he needs to trust her so she can bring their daughter home. He says he trusts her more than she knows and snaps her neck.
He says he just doesn’t trust Jackson. Marcel wakes to find he’s tied up with vervain soaked ropes. Finn did spoon feed him a little blood. Finn asks him about Cami and Klaus. He says Klaus confided in Cami but she had no knowledge he could use against him. He says he now knows Klaus has a secret that he’s desperate to protect. He asks Marcel what it is. Marcel says Klaus wouldn’t trust him with anything like that. He calls Finn a chump and Finn tortures him.
He tells Marcel to tell him what he knows. Marcel says he can tell him what he remembers. Marcel says 200 years ago Klaus caught him looking at a coffin and that Klaus told him it was his brother Finn that they keep there because he’s such a bore. He tortures Marcel some more. The new girl asks Rebekah if New Orleans is still beautiful. She tells her to go back to her room so she can finish doing some things. The girl asks Rebekah why she’s there.
She says she was trying to help her brothers but Kol tricked her. The girl tells her she shouldn’t fight with her family and says she should stand with them. Rebekah says it’s a 1,000 years of complications. She tells the new girl if she wants out to meet her at the front door in 20 minutes. Klaus shows back up at Mary’s and asks if Jackson can come out to play. He asks where Hayley is and Klaus says she’s exhausted and resting.
Jack goes outside with him and Klaus calls him a brave lad. He speeds off with him as Mary gasps. He dumps him off and Jack shouts out to come on if he wants to fight. Klaus says it’s not a fight, it’s an execution and asks how he’d like to die. He knocks Jack down and says most victims scream by now and then asks if he has any words. Jack calls him bastard and says to go to hell. Klaus says it was his mentor Ansel that left him a bastard.
He asks if Klaus is jealous that he got to spend time with his daddy. Klaus punches him repeatedly. Jack says he could have learned from him himself if he hadn’t killed him. Klaus calls him a hypocrite and says he’s using Hayley for a power grab so he can wage war and win territory since that’s what wolves do. Jack says he knows nothing about being a wolf and Klaus says he never had the luxury to live among their kind or know his father.
He says maybe Jack was the son he never had. He throws Jack against a tree brutally. Finn continues tormenting Marcel and says it looks like Klaus really didn’t tell him anything. Kol shows up and says he owes Marcel something. He slams a knife into his hand. Marcel threatens to kill them both then Kol snaps his neck. Finn says he can’t believe he had the nerve to come here. Kol says he always picks the winning side but then when he heard that Finn turned their dad into a black magic battery, he’s back.
Finn torments him and calls him a duplicitous weasel. Kol says he proved himself. He says he put Rebekah in a new body and is forging a new dagger to put Klaus to sleep for a 1,000 years. He says he’s got Davina on their side and with her beside them, nothing can stand in their way. Rebekah tries to wake Cassie. She then heads into the coffin room and wipes the dust off. She hears a noise and it’s Cassie. She tells Rebekah she’s sorry and says there’s no escape. She has the kindred with her.
Cassie says she wished she had stopped her before she killed one of their own. Rebekah says she didn’t kill her but won’t miss the ugly cow. She goes for them and they take her down. The new girls slings them all against the wall and says they are the ones who need punished. She tells Cassie that she’s smart, powerful and yet was a betrayer. She grabs her head and her eyes bleed as Cassie screams. She drops her dead to the floor.
The girl says she despises traitors. She binds and heals Rebekah’s wound and she asks how she did it. The girl walks off and Rebekah follows. Jack is crawling and nearly dead. Klaus says he finds his plot audacious and says Hayley is part of his family and he’s using her for her own ambitions. Jack says he loves her and will fight for her til he’s dead. He stabs Klaus with a branch and Klaus pulls it out and says he has more fight than he imagined but is unimpressed.
Jack says if he kills him now, to promise that he’ll help Hayley set them free. Hayley shows up and lays some kick ass down on Klaus. She says she trusts Jack and he has to go through her to kill him. Klaus asks if Jackson is truly worthy of her trust. He calls her a stubborn little wolf and says maybe they were meant for each other. He tells Hayley to tell him the secret, have her wedding and save her wolves. He tells her that if Jack betrays her, he will take his head and put it on a spike in her grandma’s garden.
Finn asks why Klaus isn’t torturing Rebekah’s location out of him now. Finn says Elijah is also out of the picture. He says Elijah hides from no one and wonders if he’s keeping something hidden. Kol says he sounds like a drunk Sherlock Holmes. Finn says he’s a fool to think he doesn’t know about his friends in the back. Finn wakes Josh who wakes ravenous. He also wakes the other vamps that are all starving. Aiden snaps Josh’s neck, grabs him up and tells her they need to go.
The new girl magics she and Rebekah out of the house and Rebekah says she’s the coffin girl. The girl says she had been asleep a century and wanted to know what she was like before she revealed herself. She tells Rebekah she’s not half as bad as their brothers. She tells Rebekah she spied her once at a party and tells Rebekah she knows who she is. It’s Freya. She walks off and Rebekah follows. Freya says she slept 100 years and is free. She says to tell the brothers she’s coming soon and expects their best behavior.
She magics the gate open and leaves. Finn asks Kol if he’s done with the ruse. Kol runs to the back where there’s hungry vamps. Finn says Davina took off with one of his vampires. Finn tells Kol they were given the gift of rebirth free of vampirism and says Kol couldn’t give the pittance he was asked in return. Kol tells Finn that he’s not thinking straight because he’s angry. Finn says he’s going to give Kol the one thing he fears most – death.
He curses him to be stuck in the body that he’s in so that he can’t jump. Finn tells him to say his goodbyes and says he’ll be dying in that body soon. He tells Kol he won’t miss him. Mary nurses Jack’s wounds and Hayley apologizes. Mary says they all know monsters and have baggage. She says Hayley fought for Jack when he was down and a lot of married folk never get that far. Jack asks why Klaus didn’t kill him.
She says Klaus can’t trust people but he’s also scared not to. Hayley takes his hand and says she has to tell him a story about a beautiful baby girl and the parents who swore to die to protect her. Klaus calls Elijah and says he approved the wedding for strength in numbers. He says if he had killed Jack, Hayley would have turned on him. He says after the wedding takes place and the wolves get their legacy, Jackson’s face is less certain.
Rebekah greets Klaus and he’s stunned to see her in the new body. She says he won’t believe the week she’s had. Marcel wakes still tied to the chair. Finn tells him he has one more question. Marcel says to let his people go free and he’ll tell him whatever he wants. Finn says he already knows he knows nothing. Finn says Marcel was the last person to see Klaus’ baby alive and asks how the baby died. Finn says he doesn’t remember because he was compelled to forget.
Finn asks why Klaus would do that. He says he did it to protect his daughter and concludes that she’s still alive. He tells Marcel that he and the other vampires are going to help him find the child. Marcel just glares.
