Cassandra and Kane have joined forces. They have tried to get information on Ginny before but everytime they did so they ended up hitting a roadblock. Namely their boss Johnson.
And on tonight’s episode of “The Player”, they chose to take the fight to him. A stranger making a strange/ untraceable call had warned Kane about a man named Jack Fuller and after he did some digging he found out that Jack was a former US Marshall whose specialty was in making people disappear. And Jack turned out to fit the build of the man in the picture with Ginny.
Thus both Kane and Cassandra were convinced that Jack had something to do with Ginny’s disappearance. And they felt it was time to take their investigation, especially into Jack, public. That way they could see for themselves if they had somehow managed to trip Johnson up.
And they did. Johnson was surprised when he had to hear of a new bet rather than being the one to create it. So he played along with Cassandra and Kane’s plan. He told them they could make a bet over former US Marshall Jack Fuller’s location. Yet he didn’t do too good of a job of hiding his fear.
He told Cassandra that by merely looking into Fuller, they alerted the US Marshall’s office. Only the problem with that was the fact it wasn’t true. ADA can actually hide herself pretty well when she’s running checks and that meant she never left behind a trace.
So if someone was going to tell Fuller that Kane was on to him then it wasn’t going to come up from the artificially intelligent computer.
However there was a new bet on the table thanks to Johnson amending it and so Kane had to compete in the “Can Alex Kane Locate Jack Fuller Professional Ghost Before He Leaves the Country” bet. And that took him once again of the state. Where he later landed in Deep River, Utah.
Cassandra had looked into birth records and there an extremely high number of births registered in Deep River, Utah. Therefore someone had been using the place to come up with new identities for people that need to disappear. And if Fuller was going to get himself a new identity then that’s where he would go.
So Kane went down to the birth records and, though one would never expect it, those bureaucrats had put a pretty good fight before they beaten into submission. But Kane did get Fuller’s new name. Fuller was going by Eric Cameron.
And using his buddy the detective’s badge number, Kane put out a BOLO for Eric Cameron. Yet he had barely gotten the chance to use it.
Fuller was at the airport by time Kane tracked him down and, unbeknownst to Kane, his odds were worse off with Cassandra being detained. Therefore Kane tried to apprehend Fuller on his own and Fuller was able to put out his own BOLO on Alex Kane.
Kane ended up getting arrested just as he was about to bring down Fuller and he lost the bet in the end. He had still be locked up when Fuller’s flight took off to parts unknown. So Kane really wasn’t in the greatest of moods when he got out. Though his night didn’t compare to either Cassandra’s or Cal’s.
Cal and Special Agent Rose Nolan had brought in Cassandra for interrogation. Cal thought they were going to be asked about the murders she was connected when the truth was she was asked about the game she was playing. Yet Cassandra knocked the guys that were holding her down and she made her escape.
But before she did, Nolan told her a story about a little girl from London whose parents were murdered. And how there had been one suspect at the time. A very mysterious African-American who swooped in just as fast as he swooped into the limelight.
So Cassandra later told Johnson about what Nolan tried yet she hadn’t said a word about the bet. Nor for that matter did she ask if he was the one that had targeted Cal the second her interrogation had been over.
Cal had been shot later that night and that made Cal believe it was because of the people Kane worked with. So Cal ended their friendship while he was still in the hospital. And in turn made Kane not want to help Johnson when the man finally admitted to being targeted.
Although Johnson did Kane a favor once their tempers cooled. He introduced him to Fuller who said Ginny had approached him about a new identity.
Kane thought his wife was mysterious but when he found her secret arsenal of explosives – even he questioned why he was still looking for her.
THE END!
