The Royals continues tonight with an all new Sunday, December 20 season 2 episode 6 called “Doubt Truth to Be a Liar,” and we have your recap below. On tonight’s episode, the twins have a birthday party in the palace and things get out of hand.

#TheRoyals starts with Mandy and Eleanor coming into her room. They are being rowdy. Mandy has talked her into wearing her gran’s earrings. They look at them in the glass case. Mandy says it seems like too much and says the galas are only about her mother getting attention.
Mandy kisses her and says she deserves to be happy. Eleanor pulls off her top and throws it over the security camera. She points out the other and Mandy takes off her shot and covers it too. Rachel tells the queen her bill passed quietly last night.
She says she’s a heartbeat away from becoming the monarch when Cyrus dies and says no one even knows she’s about to take it all. Rachel asks why she’s glum. The queen says clear my schedule and give me your car keys. She does.
She asks about the twins party and the queen says she deserves her own day. Three guys with paint ball guns shoot up Liam’s bed and scream happy birthday. He was hiding and shots them with the help of security.
They talk about the party tonight. Eleanor wakes Mandy and shows her the huge diamond. She gets a text from Rachel and says her mother isn’t coming. Eleanor says they should cancel and says it’s always more boring than the last.
Mandy asks about when they were kids. Eleanor says when they were nine, the queen away and her dad through them a real kids party. She says he had a cake made they jumped out of. Mandy tells her she has to go.
Eleanor asks where she has to be and Mandy says this is about her birthday and says – trust me. Eleanor says bye and she kisses her. Cyrus sprays paint on his bald spot. Violet mentions the gala to him and he’s annoyed that the twins are to be celebrated.
Helena goes to Lacey’s place and she’s looking all sad when he comes into the room and says they need to talk. Jasper asks Eleanor what she knows about Mandy and says she’s moving fast with her. Eleanor says she’s sick of him and his games.
She tells him to be a jealous ex-bodyguard. He says he just wants her protected and she says that’s not his privilege anymore. Later, at the opera, Cyrus has Violet on his arm and Lady Holloway tells him this is a shame and he screwed her husband out of the job of Prime Minister.
Cyrus tells her that her husband is probably doing a job on some other man right now. Mandy and Jasper meet in the tunnels and she says they will have the diamond soon and it’s what they’ve been working for.
She reminds him of their Bellagio job and how they celebrated after. She says she remembers how frustrated he was about his parents scraping by on small cons and reminds him he told her they just needed one great job. She says this is it.
Mandy asks if Jasper has heard from his folks then says last she heard, they were being evicted from a trailer park. She says he’s so close to showing how much better he is than his father. She walks off diamond in hand.
Lacey tells Helena she needs to be quiet and listen. He says he was her convenience and was grateful for the time he got with her until she dragged Henry through the mud. He says he’s dead to her forever. He says that was the speech he prepared to give her.
He asks if the kids are his. Helena says she doesn’t know. She tells him she will never lie to him again. He says it’s the twins party tonight and she’s there not thinking about anyone but herself. She says she got caught up in a tide and says she’s not as cruel as he makes her out to be.
Lacey says she has wanted to be on the throne and this new bill will make it happen. Helena says none of this is like she wanted. He says everyone around her loses but her and she sacrifices nothing. He says hang onto the twins or she’ll be completely alone.
Cyrus and Violet take their seats and she says everyone is looking at her and she feels ashamed. She asks if she’s a disgrace to the crown but he says that’s nonsense and those other bitches are the disgrace. He says the crown shines bright with her beside him.
Liam and Eleanor are in a giant cake that Mandy arranged – she even got them bumper cars. Mandy is there and Eleanor asks how she got dodgems in the bloody palace. She calls her a sneaky bitch. Some of the stuffy older people are horrified they’re serving shots.
Mandy says there are fireworks at midnight too. She’s got on the giant diamond necklace and Eleanor hugs her and says no one has ever done this for her. Jasper watches as they kiss publicly. They do a shot and Liam takes a shot too.
Eleanor keeps swigging while Mandy watches. Next they get into the bumper cars and Mandy pours more liquor down Eleanor’s throat. The rehab chick Imogen is at the party and tells Eleanor she’s doing great and says she met a new guy who invited her to the party.
She says she’s clean and happy and Eleanor says she deserves to be happy. Jasper drifts over near Mandy and says there are too many guards to do this. Liam is with Wilhelmina and they greet the Swiss ambassadors.
Wilhelmina introduces Liam to them and the Ambassador says this is a brilliant party. They play beer pong against the older couple. There’s also a petting zoo and Imogen goes through with Eleanor.
Imogen’s date comes over and chews her out and she says she has to go. Helena does not like Lacey rejecting her. He says they have no future. He cuts his hand and gives her a bloody napkin and says he wants her to DNA test the kids.
She says he’s throwing away 30 years and begs him not to go. She says she’ll make it up to him. He says just make amends with the children before 30 more years go by. He walks out on her. Wilhelmina went into the dunk tank and got dipped.
Liam gives her a towel and offers her dry clothes in his room. She says in his room and then asks if there’s a shower. She says he’s probably offered that line to lots of girls. He tells her where to find his room and says he’ll check on her in a few minutes. She goes.
Mandy finds Eleanor in her room and she tells Mandy she’s happy and really appreciates the party. She says it’s so nice. They kiss. Mandy asks if they’re alone then tells her she’s beautiful then asks if she can try on the necklace and says she’s being girly.
Loudly so the guard can hear, Eleanor says no then takes it off and puts it on her. Mandy says it doesn’t look as good on her as it does on Eleanor. She drops it handing it back then bumps her head. Mandy hands it back to her and Eleanor seems to look at it closely.
Looks like Mandy made the switch to the fake diamond she’s had with her. Eleanor flirts and kisses her. Jasper sees Eleanor doing more shots then comes over and says come with me, this is not a game. He offers to tell her the real reason he’s there.
She says no and he stalks off. She follows him into the tunnels and Eleanor asks Mandy why she’s leaving. Jasper grabs her necklace and throws it down and breaks it. He then snatches the real diamond necklace from Mandy and says we came to rob you.
Mandy demands to be let you. Eleanor is horrified and says it doesn’t belong to her, it belongs to the people. They can hear the fireworks start. Eleanor takes off her earrings and hands them to Mandy. She says if this is about taking things from me, fine.
She then tells Jasper, let her go. He opens the tunnel gate. Eleanor looks at her sadly and Mandy goes. Mandy tells Jasper it’s now or never but he won’t go with her. Eleanor is distraught. Jasper tells Mandy to give back the diamonds – he follows her – she says he won’t come back from this.
Jasper says it’s not too late to fix it. He says just tell Eleanor she changed her mind because she fell in love with her and nothing else matters. Mandy says he’s screwed and he’s sweet and that’s his weakness. She kisses him and walks away.
Cyrus is with Violet and says youth is wasted on the young. She says he should tell everyone what’s going on with him and they can see the real him like she sees. He says he doesn’t care about being liked and he says they like her. She says they admired him.
She says if he doesn’t have much time left, he should do something meaningful then asks what he wants to do. He says this and kisses her. He says he wants to spend it with her. She smiles. Eleanor is teary when she comes back to the party and sees everyone coupled up.
She cries and then someone bumps into her. Eleanor freaks and then takes a lighter and sets one of the party banners aflame. Liam comes in smiling and the sprinklers start up and everyone gets drenched. Liam has a flash to the girl who was standing over him – he says he knows it was her that night.
She says – not now, we’re being watched – she runs out. Helena texts Rachel and asks her to make an appointment with the doctor for her and the twins and says it’s important. She hides the bloody handkerchief in a compartment in her jewelry box.
Later, Eleanor sits alone crying in a bumper car. She still holds the necklace. Jasper comes in and she Helena sees the wreckage of the party and her daughter looking so sad. She also sees Jasper staring at her.
