Filming for the next season of AMC’s zombie-packed show has begun, and that means The Walking Dead Season 6 spoilers are finally revealing details that have been teased since season 5 wrapped. Scott Gimple promised more walkers, and it appears that is what fans will get as several herds of walkers have been spotted along with new characters. Another big rumor that started with an innocent tweet also has us wondering if Eugene has been killed off.
Only a handful of episodes have been shot at this time, but season 6 of TWD appears to be gearing up for a new direction. We’ve shared the previous details of a possible attack on Alexandria and smoke accompanying fire-damaged buildings, but the herds of walkers being filmed could support the theory the Wolves will be bringing the zombies back to the forefront.
A few new characters also seem to be popping up on set. A taller male has joined Michonne in a few TWD scenes that have fans guessing who the “new guy” is. Most theories suggest the new Walking Dead character could be Heath, as the male is sporting a lot of similar features. For those who don’t dabble in the comics, Heath is a supply runner and partner Glenn at the Safe Zone. Filming in the town of Hampton supports the theory a big scene featuring Heath and Glenn on a run is being shot. Nearly 300 extras, all in walker gear/makeup, have also been seen in Hampton giving further fuel to the doomed run for supplies.
As for the rumors of a major character death… Josh McDermitt, who plays Eugene, and Michael Cudlitz, who portrays Abraham, have been seen on set numerous times. BUT a Twitter exchange between the two Walking Dead cast members who have been through the bulk of the zombie apocalypse together might reveal the death of their characters.
Josh sent out a tweet stating, he was busy filming another project and hasn’t “been on much” thanks to the movie’s schedule. Cudlitz replied, “Enjoy, I had a blast working with you. (I did). ” Naturally, TWD fans immediately caught the past tense use and pointed out the possible spoiler. Perhaps noticing the spoiler or just wanting to tame the rumors, Cudlitz changed the tweet to a simple “Enjoy!!”
Eugene is still alive in the comics, but that doesn’t promise anything! As we have all learned, Robert Kirkman and The Walking Dead writers/showrunners love to keep the audience guessing. Comeback to CDL for more The Walking Dead season 6 spoilers, updates and news.
