Tonight’s episode of The Whispers kicks off with Sean and Claire meeting up with Rollins – he hands Henry over to them. Rollins tries to tell Sean that “he can explain” but Sean punches him and obviously doesn’t want to hear his explanation. Meanwhile, Wes reassures his boss that they have “eliminated the threat.” The secretary isn’t buying it Wes tells him that if he handles this right – he just handed him the Presidency.

Meanwhile, Sean and Claire try to hatch out a plan – they plan on lying low until everything dies down. Henry wants to know what they are going to do with Joe, Claire tries to explain that Drill is gone. Henry reveals that he saw him right before Rollins brought him to them. Henry reveals that Drill is really mad at them, and he wanted to know where his parents were. Claire tells Henry to go wait in the car so that they can talk. Meanwhile, Wes heads home and he tells his wife that Drill is gone. Lena says that isn’t possible, Minx was just playing a game with him. They head in to Minx’s bedroom and wake her up. Minx tells Wes that she was just playing a game, and she didn’t really talk to Drill, she just wanted Lena to play with her.

Sean and Claire check in to a hotel with Henry. Sean reminisces about the last time they were in a hotel together. They stayed there to try to “reconnect,” but instead they both got food poisoning and they spent the entire night laying on the bathroom floor together and talking all night. Sean is sad because they stopped talking to each other a long time ago. He reassures Claire that they are going to “make it through this and be a family again.”

Claire gets ready for bed and she receives a phone call from Jessup. He says that he found a report about an 8 year old that spoke to Drill and said he was from another world. Claire thinks they have a lead and asks him who the boy is. Jessup reveals that it isn’t the “who” that is interesting, but the “when.” The article was written in 1982 – Drill has been here before.

The next day Claire calls Wes and tells her that Drill survived the explosion. Wes panics and calls Lena, he tells her that she was right and Drill was there talking to Minx. He leaves her a message and tells her to stay away from electricity. Meanwhile, at the house Lena is playing with Minx. She says that she has a secret message for her from Drill. She starts to spell out the words “kill” with scrabble letters.

Claire and Sean are trying to track down the boy that said he spoke to Drill in 1982. They visit Thomas’s father’s house and he tries to slam the door in Claire’s face. Thomas’s dad tells her that there is no way her son Henry knows Thomas’s imaginary friend. Claire tries to explain that it is real. Wes heads to work and tells the Secretary the bad news – that Drill is still alive. He is furious, he tells Wes to pack his bags and go home and keep an eye on his family – he is done working for them.

Meanwhile, Wes’s daughter Minx is in her bedroom talking to Drill, she starts to climb out of her second story bedroom window. Lena heads outside because she cant find Minx – she finds her standing on the roof. Minx explains that Drill told her to go on the roof because there was a kitten stuck up there. Minx says that she will go inside as long as Lena promises to play a game with Drill.

Claire and Sean sit down with Thomas’s dad – he reveals that he used to work as an astronaut for NASA. In the summer of 1982 NASA picked up a weird signal, then he came home from work and told his sons about the alien signal. A few weeks later Thomas began saying that he heard the alien Drill in his head. Thomas wound up killing his own brother because Drill told him to. Apparently Thomas and his little brother Elliot were down playing by Hanger’s Pond, Thomas came back home covered in blood without his brother. Afterwards Thomas spent 10 years in a mental institution and then he never saw his son again.

Wes rushes home and he goes up to Minx’s bedroom to talk to her, he reprimands her for lying about talking to Drill. Minx cries that Drill told her not to tell her parents about him. Wes warns her that they can’t have any secrets in their family. Minx agrees, and says that he should know something about her mommy – Mix thinks Lena is going to do something bad. Wes calls Lena’s cell phone but she doesn’t answer – she is driving somewhere in her car.

At Thomas’s house his dad takes Claire and Sean to the garage so that they can watch some old home movies of Thomas and his other son Elliot. He promises to check on Henry for them – he is in the house playing video games. They find a video of Elliot and Thomas playing down by Hanger’s Pond. Sean doesn’t understand what Drill wanted with Thomas and Elliot – Claire says it had to do with their father since he worked at NASA. Claire and Sean decide to track down Thomas, they call Rollins and he gives them an address in Delaware. Wes can’t find Lena so he has Rollins track her cell phone – they are shocked to see that she is headed to the same address that Claire and Sean are headed to, Thomas’s house.

Claire and Sean head to Thomas’s house, there is no answer so they head in to snoop around and tell Henry to wait in the car. The house is dark because Thomas doesn’t have any electricity – so that way Drill can’t talk to him. They head in to the basement and see that Thomas has created an entire scene with figurines and tiny trees of the day that he killed his brother Elliot. While they are in the basement, someone slams the door and locks them down there. Meanwhile, Lena is outside of Thomas’s house in her car. She is having second thoughts and cries to herself that she “can’t do this.” Henry knocks on her car window, he tells her that she “needs to do it” and hurry because she is running out of time. Back in the house, Claire and Sean are trying to talk to Thomas through the locked door.

Thomas lets Claire and Sean out of the basement, he reveals that he and his brother actually summoned Drill to Earth and he starts rambling about completing an atomic bomb. Thomas takes out a book and said that there were over a thousand nuclear tests over the span of 20 years, and they created a beacon straight to Earth. Thomas says that Drill was searching for a new planet because his planet was running out of energy, but for some reason only the kids could understand him. Claire reveals that Drill has been speaking to their son Henry, Thomas starts freaking out and says that isn’t possible because he killed Drill – and then starts shouting at them to get out of his house.

Just as Thomas is about to tell them how he killed the Drill in 1982, Minx’s mom Lena storms in to the house with a gun and shoots Thomas. Rollins and Wes arrive a minute too late, they weren’t able to stop Lena. Lena cries to Wes that she had to do it, and Drill had Minx out on the roof. Claire and Sean are on the floor trying to keep Thomas alive and stop the bleeding. Claire begs Thomas to tell him how he killed Drill …
