“The Young and the Restless” spoilers tease that Chuck Pratt, the head writer of Y&R, wants Sharon (Sharon Case) and Dylan (Steve Burton) to become the show’s next super couple. With that in mind, it looks like Pratt wants to seal the deal by allowing them to start a family. Sharon revealed that she was pregnant and Dylan was overjoyed with the news he was going to be a father. However, we can’t forget that Pratt also tends to enjoy writing Sharon (and nearly every other woman in Genoa City) as crazy. A few “Young and the Restless” rumors have been hinting that Sharon could be faking this pregnancy in an effort to keep up with Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Sage (Kelly Sullivan).
Sharon seems obsessed with making sure her current relationship is just as solid as Nick’s is. In fact, Dylan and Sharon moved in together the very day Nick and Sage decided to share a home. The timing of Sharon’s pregnancy is undoubtedly suspicious. It almost sounds like Sharon could be making it up in an effort to prove her relationship is secure. However, Sharon has settled down a bit in the jealousy department recently. Now that things are going her way, Sharon doesn’t appear to have a problem with Dylan rushing over to help Avery (Jessica Collins). Sharon even offered to talk to Faith (Aly Lind) about all the changes that are happening in Nick’s life with Sage. It’s possible that Sharon has turned over a new leaf and she truly is pregnant with a little McAvoy. If that’s the case, a baby would only add to Sharon’s sense of security.
Of course, there’s always the possibility that this could be a false pregnancy. Sharon may want this baby so much that she’s actually convinced herself she’s expecting. Sharon could have fooled herself to the point that she’s even experiencing the symptoms. If Sharon isn’t really pregnant, this might be the most logical theory to explain what’s going on. Dylan keeps mentioning how much wishes he could’ve been a dad and it would be awfully cruel if Sharon deliberately lied to him about a baby. On the other hand, maybe the crazy side of Sharon is hoping she can get a bun in the oven pronto now that Dylan won’t be worried about birth control.
Will Sharon give Faith a new brother or sister? We’ll have to wait for Sharon’s next trip to the OB-GYN to know for sure. Whatever happens, there’s bound to be a good reason for this pregnancy or possible fake-out. Stick with “The Young and the Restless” for updates on the potential addition to Dylan and Sharon’s brood.
