“The Young and the Restless” spoilers for the week of April 13 tease some must-see drama for fans of the CBS soap: Jack Abbott and Phyllis say “I Do” at a bizarre wedding, and Sharon Newman finds herself in serious trouble when she is officially arrested by the Genoa City Police for Austin Traver’s murder.
“The Young and the Restless” spoilers tease that Jack and Phyllis will finally get married, but it will not be your typical CBS soap wedding. Y&R tends to go over the top with elaborate wedding ceremonies on the daytime drama – but Jack (Peter Bergman) and Phyllis’s “I Do” takes a non-traditional route.
According to Y&R spoilers in the April 20 edition of Soap Opera Digest, Jack and Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) head to St. Barth’s by themselves to slip away from the Genoa City drama and have a private wedding. With all of the drama over Kelly Andrews (Cady McClain), Victor (Eric Braeden) and the hack at Jabot, and Billy and Chelsea planning an over-the-top wedding, Phyllis and Jack decide they want to get married in a low-key and private ceremony.
“The Young and the Restless” head writer Charles Pratt dished some wedding spoilers to Soap Opera Digest. Pratt revealed, “The original plan is to exchange vows on the beach, Mother Nature intervenes with a sudden downpour but even that won’t stop the ceremony as far as Jack is concerned. It’s full steam ahead, Jack feels free of Kelly and guilty for ever not trusting Phyllis.” According to Pratt’s “The Young and the Restless” spoilers, Jack and Phyllis opt to get married in their hotel room and they have a priest come oversee their vows – and he barely speaks English.
“The Young and the Restless” rumors have been teasing that Kelly Andrews may not actually be dead – and a popular opinion among Y&R fans is that she is the mystery caller who keeps calling Jack and hanging up on him. According to Soap Opera Digest’s spoilers, Jack and Phyllis’s quirky wedding goes off without a hitch – but all hell breaks loose on their honeymoon. Perhaps Kelly decides to resurrect herself from the dead and pay Jack and Phyllis a visit when she learns that the couple got secretly married.
While Jack and Phyllis are out of town getting married, Y&R spoilers tease that there is a major break in Austin’s murder investigation – and Sharon Newman is arrested! Sharon’s new confidante Dylan (Steve Burton) has some secret tests ran on the tire iron used to kill Austin (Matt Atkinson) – and learns that Sharon’s fingerprints are on the weapon. “The Young and the Restless” spoilers tease that instead of going to the police, Dylan tells Sharon (Sharon Case) that she is in serious trouble and gives her an opportunity to try and rectify the firestorm that is sure to follow when the police realize what Dylan already knows.
In true “The Young and the Restless” form – Sharon isn’t just arrested for the murder, but a series of bizarre twists and turns occur first. Not always the best decision-maker, Sharon decides to snoop around Avery’s office where the murder weapon is. Y&R spoilers in the April 20th edition of Soap Opera Digest reveal that while Sharon is in Avery’s office someone attacks her and knocks her out with chloroform – she wakes up at her house with the murder weapon, and Noah and Summer (Hunter King) find her. Plagued by mental illness in the past, Sharon begins to question her own sanity and wonder whether she has been blacking out again and is truly Austin’s killer or she is being framed. When Summer Newman learns that Sharon has the tire iron that was used to kill her husband – she calls the GC police and Paul Williams has no choice but to arrest Sharon for Austin’s murder.
So Y&R fans, what do you think of Phyllis and Jack finally getting married…again? Do you think Kelly is still alive, will she crash their honeymoon? Who is framing Sharon, and why are they going to such great lengths to convince her that she is crazy again? Will Sharon and Dylan be able to clear her name – or is she going to jail for murder?
