Tonight on Bravo Vanderpump Rules returns with an all new Monday November 16, season 4 episode 3 called, “Pretty Little Lies,” and we have your weekly recap below. On tonight’s episode, when Scheana Shay and Katie Maloney bust Lala for lying about a modeling job in Italy, Lisa Vanderpump turns the table on them for picking on the new girl.
On the last episode, when Lisa Vanderpump brought new blood to the shark-infested waters of SUR, Katie and Scheana quickly taught new girl Lala that there’s no such thing as a secret at Lisa’s restaurant. Rumors spread that James was unfaithful to Kristen, and Kristen made a tough choice about who to believe. Jax imported a new girlfriend from Kentucky and Scheana continued to feel the heat from Ariana over her friendship with Kristen. Did you watch the last episode? On tonight’s show as per the Bravo synopsis, “when Scheana and Katie bust Lala for lying about a modeling job in Italy, Lisa Vanderpump turns the table on them for picking on the new girl. Scheana worries her marriage may be in danger when it’s revealed that her husband has been keeping secrets. Tom and Ariana try “adulting,” Jax and James compete for Lala’s affection and Tom Schwartz makes a big step towards committing to Katie.”

Lisa is freshening up Sur by finding new cocktail dresses for her servers.
At the store, she talks to Scheana and Katie, saying she is cross with them because they are trying to push out Lala, the new girl. Lisa says in confessional that Scheana should know better because she was in the same situation before, and that the two of them are trying to push Lala out because they are comfortable in their positions and don’t want anyone threatening that. Lisa tells them that they don’t have to like eachother, but they need to be nice to Lala and not try to push her out. Katie and Scheana try to expose Lala for lying about going on a modeling business trip to Italy when she is really getting a free trip for being a companion for a man. Lisa tells them that that isn’t their business.
The bartenders at PUMP are being taught to make cocktails, and Jax has a back and forth with Eric. Jax says there is one thing Eric has on him, and that he is way better at kissing Lisa’s ass. During the lesson, the two of them hit eachother with snappy remarks and Lisa chastises them.
Lisa asks Lala how her modeling was, and she says it was a long story. Lisa quizzes her on the details of the modeling job, and Lala says that she was working with someone in Venice and was supposed to take pictures as well as be eye candy. However, she says she never went because she had a break down and her mother picked her up. She says the breakdown was caused by people like Scheana and Katie saying things, so she needed her mother. Lisa says in confessional that when girls try to push another girl out it has the opposite of the intended effect, because she just starts supporting that girl. Lisa tells Lala that she is concerned by what she told her and to let her know when something is going on.
In the bathroom, Scheana cries as she tells Katie that Shay has left because he isn’t happy. She says she can’t tell if it’s because she isn’t making him happy or if he just isn’t happy with himself. She says it’s so hard not having him home because she wants him there every minute of every day.
Lisa has the Sur servers and hostesses trained again, which has Katie bored. She says repeatedly that she has been a server since before she could drive and she has been doing an amazing job at her job.
Tom Schwartz has a photo shoot with two sexy female models. He says in confessional that modeling has always been spotty for him, but he’s been getting some scores which is clutch because he is trying to save up money for something special. He also says that he is just beginning to relish in the fact that he is willing to propose and that he hasn’t even begun to think about the details of getting a ring and proposing.
James says in confessional that he feels bad about lying with Kristen, but at the same time he had good sex with Jenna. He says he doesn’t regret sleeping with her, but he does love Kristen, “don’t get me wrong.” The two of them discuss their relationship and James’ insecurities, and Kristen says that some of his insecurity may have come from the fact that he has been unfaithful. James lies yet again and says that he has not slept with anyone besides her, and she says she knows that. James then tells her that he doesn’t trust her, bringing up her dinner with Jax. He says no one should trust Jax to be around their girlfriend. Kristen says in confessional that she knows why James is so insecure; it’s because he’s cheating. She says it’s a classic cheater tactic to turn around and blame the other person.
Lisa talks to Scheana and Katie about Lala. Scheana tears up saying she isn’t trying to bully Lala, but she has other things going on in her life other than being nice to the new girl. Lisa tells them they should not ignore that Lala also has feelings. She says she will talk to her and apologize, but she has other things going on right now. Lisa says that Lala also has things going on, and Scheana says she can guarantee that what’s going on in her life is bigger.
Schwartz tells Sandoval about the photo shoot and how he is trying to figure out what kind of ring to get. He says that he would like Scheana to come so he can get a woman’s perspective. Sandoval says in confessional that Schwartz has a calmness about commitment that he hasn’t seen in him before. Sandoval says he heard from Ariana that Shay has been drinking and stuff like that, and the two of them are concerned. Sandoval says in confessional that he finds the news shocking since, as far as he knows, Shay’s relationship with Scheana has been amazing.
Jax asks Lala how the girls at Sur have been treating her. She says she feels like she’s in junior high with figuring out who she is and isn’t supposed to be friends with. Jax says Sur is a very cliquey restaurant, and not an easy place to work. He says he wishes they had a plaque that showed all of the girls who have left Sur because the others are such bullies. Lala says in confessional that she is a girl’s girl and would rather hang out with a group of girls than guys, but since the girls at Sur are bullying her, she has no choice but to befriend the boys. Lala asks him about his girlfriend, and he tells her to pump the breaks on the word girlfriend. “Are we dating? Absolutely? Would I call her my girlfriend? No,” he says. (A flashback shows Jax telling her that he would like them to be exclusive.) Jax tells Lala that he typically will jump into a relationship with someone, and Lala flirts with him. (Lala says in confessional that she has heard about Jax’s reputation. “People get ‘Jax’d.’ I don’t know what that is, but it sounds fun,” she says.)
Scheana talks to Ariana about Lala and Shay. She says that everyone looks at her and Shay as the perfect happy couple, but there are issues. She says she is starting to understand Schwartz’s reservations about marriage. She says that she is going ring shopping with him and wants to tell him “this is awesome, don’t do it.” She says her partner in all of this is not happy and it breaks her heart, and that Shay has been drinking and self-medicating. She says she is trying to be happy, and doesn’t want to bring anyone down with her.
Ariana says in confessional that she and Scheana have been spending less time together due to Scheana’s friendship with Kristen, so she didn’t know she was having issues with Shay. Scheana asks if she got married too soon, and if she hasn’t been an attentive wife. She says she blames herself, saying she is being like a mother and not an amazing wife.
Scheana says in confessional that a lot of things between her and Shay are kept private, so there are a lot of things in her marriage that people don’t know about. Crying, she tells Ariana that she wonders if it was too good to be true.
Lisa asks James if everything is okay, and he says he is okay but he and Kristen are in a bad patch. Lisa tells him she is sad to hear that. Lisa says in confessional that James needs Kristen in his life right now like he needs a boil on his ass. She says she thinks you need to rely on someone who is emotionally supportive, and she doesn’t look at Kristen as being that person.
Tom Schwartz, Sandoval and Scheana go shopping for an engagement ring for Katie. Scheana has a memo ready on her phone with the details of exactly what Katie wants. Schwartz says that he originally wanted to pay $4,000 or $5,000 for the ring, which Scheana tells him to double. Schwartz says in confessional that he went into this with a lowball mentality, but now he wants to go all out because Katie deserves it. They find the perfect ring, but it will cost $7,000. Schwartz says that’s a lot, and the jeweler tells him he can sell some of his stuff.
Schwartz asks Scheana if he is supposed to buy his own wedding band, and Scheana says she and Shay did that together. Then she says it has been a year, so she has been thinking about adding stones to her ring. Schwartz asks when the last time she talked to Shay was, and she said it’s been four days, the longest since they’ve been together.
Sandoval says in confessional that he finds it crazy that Scheana and Shay haven’t spoken in four days, yet she’s talking about adding stones to her ring. Scheana says Shay drinks way too much, and it’s affecting his psyche and his mood. Sandoval asks that if he can’t be happy on his own, how are they going to be happy together. Sandoval suggests in confessional that maybe Scheana has been too overbearing about Shay’s drinking and that has driven him away.
At Sur, Sandoval asks Scheana about Shay and she says she doesn’t want to talk about it. All she volunteers is that he isn’t happy, before storming off. Sandoval tells Jax that if something is going on, he wants to help in any way he can. Jax asks him what he is going to do, and Sandoval says he doesn’t know, maybe try to be a friend.
James asks Lala how she likes the job, and she says it’s good but could be intimidating sometimes. He brings up that he heard she was having some issues with Scheana and Katie. Lala says they think she is going to sleep with their boyfriends, and James asks if she does that. Lala says if she hits on you and you say you don’t have a girlfriend, then she hooks up with you and finds out you have a girlfriend, it’s not her fault. James says that she is good-looking so obviously some of the girls are going to bully her. Lala says in confessional that she doesn’t normally go for skinny guys, but there is something about James. She suggests that maybe it is the accent.
Lisa asks Scheana what is going on in her life. Scheana says it is nothing work related, but it has been affecting her at work because everyone asks her about her marriage. she says she puts on a happy face, but the truth is it is not perfect. She says she keeps telling herself it will be okay and get better.
She tells Lisa that around Christmas time, three months into their marriage, she noticed his drinking and mixing of pills with alcohol had been getting worse. She says Shay would justify it by saying his knee hurt, and then would take pills and drink wine later. Lisa asks if he was only taking these for his pain, or if he took them for other reasons. She says it escalated over time, and that he was up to taking five of the pills a day. She says it shook her world, and she feels like she’s been cheated on because he’s been doing this every day and hiding from her. Lisa says that she is right he is cheating and being disloyal, because he is lying by omission. She says it’s not only that, but it opens the door to a lot of other questions. Lisa says Shay is obviously not the man Scheana thought he was. “I just never saw myself here,” Scheana says. Lisa says she doesn’t know if she will be happy with him or where he is going to end up. Scheana says in confessional that she doesn’t like to have regrets, but she thought she had the most perfect, amazing relationship and it’s not. She says she doesn’t know if they can get through this.
