Is Terrence Howard fired from FOX’s hit show “Empire?” Not yet, but according to a new report the network is unimpressed with all of his personal drama and the domestic abuse allegations floating around – so they have put Terrence’s character Luscious Lyon on the backburner for Season 2. Spoilers for the highly anticipated Season 2 of “Empire” indicate that Lucious will be spending the majority of the time in prison – and Howard’s screen time will be minimal.
An inside source close to “Empire’s” production team dished to Page Six, “What they are doing is two-fold. They have him locked up so you won’t be seeing him in as many scenes. But they are bringing in so many, and I mean so many, guest stars and cameos that the average viewer won’t realize it because there is so much going on.” Empire spoilers indicate that there are some big names appearing in Season 2: Mariah Carey, Ludacris, Pit Bull, Chris Rock, Marisa Tomei, Alicia Keys, and more. FOX is banking on the fact that the guest stars will take away some of the attention from the fact that Lucious Lyon is basically MIA.
Terrence Howard has been in the tabloids for weeks now, he just divorced his third wife Mira Pak, and it still in the midst of a messy divorce settlement with his second wife Michelle Ghent. Meanwhile, Terrence’s first wife Mary McCommas and ex-girlfriend May Seng Yang have both accused the “Empire” star of domestic abuse and physically harming them during their relationships with Howard. You can’t really fault actors for messy divorces, but the network is trying to distance themselves from the domestic abuse scandals. The question is, will the lack of Terrence Howard’s presence have any effect on Season 2 of “Empire?”
