Zara Phillips’ husband is opening his mouth again—this time discussing his family’s finances, embarrassing his wife and infuriating The Royal Family. Zara Phillips may not hold a royal title, but as the granddaughter to The Queen, she is still often in the spotlight. Unfortunately for her, she has been thrust into the spotlight most often as a result of her wild hubby, former rugby player, Mike Tindall.
In a recent interview with the Radio Times, Mike Tindall discussed whether or not The Royal Family helps his family out financially: “They don’t give us any money. We look after ourselves.” He went on to say that he does not seek permission from The Royal Family before taking public roles, and though that may pose consequences, he admits that when he and wife Zara Phillips make decisions “it’s what we want to do first.” Indeed. Zara and Mike upset The Queen after selling photos of their newborn daughter to Hello! Magazine.
Shockingly, he also spoke about the now infamous night out during the 2011 Rugby World Cup when he was caught fondling and kissing a blond, as fond memories he does not regret. Mike was even fined $30K for his antics that night which also included drunken antics as a bar where there was what was referred to as a “dwarf throwing contest” going on.
When the former England captain was asked about whether or not he has regrets from that drunken night, he replied, “No, not really. It’s easy to look back and say you wish it hadn’t happened. If you’d asked me do I regret going out and having a good time with the fans and all the boys – no.” Wonder if wife Zara feels the same, especially considering her husband was caught that night embracing and kissing a blond, and there were pictures to prove it!
Surprisingly, he did have enough sense not to respond when asked about the recent scandal involving Prince Andrew, Duke of York, cutting off the question with a “Let’s not go there.” Given his own indiscretions and ties to The Royal Family, that was a wise decision.
