#Zoo begins in Tokyo at the airport. Jackson says he understand his father even less now. He talks to Abraham. Jackson disses Mitch but Abraham says once you get off on the wrong foot you land on a wronger one. Mitch is working on a list of symptoms and Jamie lists the cause as Reiden Global. She asks if they can go home now. He says again that she’s obsessed. Mitch says if Delavane is right, this could be the start of a worldwide event.

Delavane comes with coffee and Abraham and Mitch join them. Jackson shows Mitch photos of his dad’s notes. Mitch says he has no clue but then mentions one note is about big cat taxonomy including leopards. Chloe comes over and says they’re going to Mississippi, not China. She says no one survived a prison fire there and it was attacked by wolves. They land there and Chloe hands out car keys and says the group is splitting up.

Chloe says they have no agency from here on out and says Delavane is funding them but they are off the books otherwise. Chloe tells Mitch and Abraham to go trap one of the wolves. Jackson wants to go but Chloe says she needs him at ground zero of the wolf attack. Chloe hands Abraham an envelope of cash to buy what they need from the hunting store nearby. Abraham tells Mitch he likes Chloe and calls her peppery but Mitch says he’s not a fan,

At the prison, Chloe, Jamie and Jackson show up with her. She shows her Embassy credentials. There was a French national being held at the jail who died and that’s their cover story for going inside to poke around. They ask the guard about how the wolves got in. The guy says he doesn’t know how many wolves were there but a lot. Abraham and Mitch are surprised by the crowd at the hunting shop. Turns out the guys are all going out to hunt the wolves.

Abraham asks about traps or snares. The guy says he has net guns. Some other guys overhear and ask what they want to do with a rabid wolf. Mitch says they’re not rabid. He says rabid wolves never travel in a pack. The guy says either way, they’ll be dead. The guy tells Mitch they have farms and families to protect. Mitch says he wants to protect them too but slaughter is not necessary. Abraham walks him away from the rednecks. Abraham says he’s the kind that pokes a beast until it bites.

Jackson tells Chloe he doesn’t see scat anywhere – he says the alpha will lead and they have an unmotivated and leaderless wolf attack. Chloe talks to the man in charge and they introduce Ben Shafer from the FBI. Ben asks why the French government cares. She says it’s about a French national. Kraft asks for papers and Ben asks why that’s a three person job. She doesn’t answer. They watch the video of the attack. Kraft says the papers are all in French.

Shafer cracks an anti-French joke. Jackson is entranced by the video and asks them to rewind it. Shafer nods and they do. We see Evan approach the wolf. Kraft says if anyone deserved to be eaten by wolves, it was him. We see him approach the wolf and it not attacking. Chloe asks why the interest. Jackson says it’s odd but it looks like Evan was their alpha and they were submissive to him. In Antarctica, a scientist comes into a research facility.

She tells the other researcher this experiment was horribly planned. Wendy and Margaret are the married researchers. They hear noises and see a flock of bats hitting their solar panels. They cover it and the lights go out in the facility. That turns the heat off. Back in Biloxi, Abraham hands Jackson a bottle from the mini-bar since they’re not paying. Abraham asks how the guy could be connected to the wolves but Jackson insists the wolves were in submission posture to him.

Abraham thinks Jackson is just over-tired. Chloe comes in with tea for Jamie as she’s researching Evan Lee Hartley. Jamie says he worked in a biology lab at a university with no criminal record then for no reason, stabbed a hunting party to death in the Pearl River Woods and said all hunters need to die. She says he was no eco-terrorist. None of his family understood it and says he was an avid outdoorsman himself but that day in the wood, he became a different person.

Jackson stares at the clock – he can’t sleep. Neither can Chloe. She heads to the bar and Ben Shafer finds her there. He tries to flirt and she shuts him down. He says he read her documents and said they seemed to be about tax law. She says he’s mistaken but then he reads off some lines and says it’s about fuel costs not being a deductible expense. He says she’s not there about the inmate and asks who she is. She shows him her official ID. He asks why she’s there and she says it’s classified.

Chloe asks for her check and then why he’s up so late. He blathers then asks again why she’s there. She demurs. He mentions inter-agency cooperation. He says to try it, she says not tonight and walks away. Next day, Mitch and Abraham head to the woods where the hunters are gearing up. They have a net gun and Abraham stops and grabs a piece of wood. He puts it in the ground and tells Mitch he’s marking their path. They hear a gunshot and agree they need to get moving.

At the prison, Jackson shows Jamie where the pack moved outside the walls. She asks how they attack then disappear. He jokes she’s on to something and he says magic wolves may not be crazier. She asks how he knows so much about wolves. He says he tagged along with his dad who was always trailing one sort of animal or another. She says it sounds great and he says he would also lock them in a room because he thought squirrels were trying to attack them.

He spots something and says there is evidence of animals covering their tracks and finds a freshly filled hole. He thinks they dug out from under the fence and then filled it in. He sees footprints too and thinks Evan went with the wolves. Abraham and Mitch work deeper into the trees. They pause and then Mitch’s phone chimes and he apologizes and says he has to take the call. He steps away and gets frustrated on the call then it ends. He turns the phone off.

Abraham and Mitch creep on and he asks Mitch if things are okay. He says it was his ex. He says they have a daughter. Someone or something watches them as they move along. We hear a growl.

The penguins are shivering in the snow and the women are getting colder in the facility. The bats are gone and the lights are back on. The woman says she siphoned fuel to make a flame thrower. They don’t notice a bat is on her back. It attacks them and starts flying amok around the place. Wendy freaks. It flies at a space heater and knocks it over shorting out their backup generator. They look outside and see there are more bats blocking the solar panels. They are out of power and screwed.

Jamie gets a call and says the widow of one of Evan’s victims was the last person to walk out of the prison alive. Chloe says to go talk to her and find out if he said anything. Abraham spots a den in the ground. He kneels and spots fresh tracks. He says the wolves will be back soon. Mitch looks around. Jackson and Chloe are at the hunting site. Chloe cocks her gun and asks how to find the guys. Jackson points out Abraham’s trail markers.

Chloe takes the lead then trips and falls flat on her face. They spot a dead animal and Jackson says animals will do a scent roll – they tear open an animal and roll in its scent to cover their scent. He thinks maybe Evan did it not one of the wolves. Jamie goes to talk to the widow Blanchard. She asks her what Evan said to her. Abraham hears growls and spots a wolf. He approaches with the net gun. The pup runs off.

Lucy says Evan said horrible things to her and told her that he was sick and looking for a cure. Jamie says she didn’t see anything about Evan being ill. Mitch is alone and stops as a couple of wolves jog by then he sees more. He’s concerned to be separated from Abraham who is led into a trap by the pup and Evan. He pulls his knife and tells Abraham to stay where he is. Lucy says Evan told her all the answers could be found in the bible. Mitch is running and calling to him. He spots Evan.

Evan says the “beasts shall stand in judgment” and we see wolves all around the three men. Jackson spots a dead wolf and he and Chloe check it out – it was shot and they hear howling nearby. Abraham sits still and looks at Evan. Mitch looks terrified. They hear gunshots and howls. Evan takes off at a run followed by the wolves. At the prison, Jamie shows back up after Kraft leaves. She says she needs to do a level three once through on Evan’s cell. He says she’s from the French group.

She says she’s on loan from Interpol to the French. They buy it and let her in. The guard radios Robson to let her know. Chloe and Jackson run up and tell Mitch and Abraham about the inmate. Mitch says he still needs a wolf and Jackson tells him there’s a dead one. In Antarctica, it’s getting colder in the research facility. They turn on the radio and look back outside. They wonder if the bats are there to force us to let the birds free.

Wendy says the bats took out the electricity and heat and says maybe if they let the birds go they’ll give them back the power. Margaret thinks she’s talking crazy and wants to talk about their relationship instead. Wendy mentions seeing her in biology class in college and falling for her right away. Margaret says they should let the birds go just in case she’s right. Ben catches Chloe on the elevator and says he heard they have her to thank for a manhunt.

He asks why she was in the woods. She says her people were in the woods on a separate matter and spotted Evan. She asks if they catch him if they can speak to him for a moment. He asks about the car battery she’s carrying. They have the wolf there which is still alive. Jackson says if they open him up to take out the bullet, it will die. They notice a smell and discuss that the wolf may have been infected with bacteria that could be the cause of the animal behavior.

Room service comes with coconuts they asked for. Mitch says coconut water is similar to cerebro spinal fluid. He’s looking for brain chemistry explanations for the behavior. He says it will take a couple of hours but then it bubbles up. They scatter before the fluid bubbles and explodes. Mitch says they’re on to something. Jamie looks over Evan’s cell rapidly. She finds an envelope and the bible is in it. She reads a verse about man being like the beasts that perish.

She finds a photo and widens her eyes. Shafer and the FBI guys find a dead hunter in Evan’s clothes. We see Evan in the hunter’s truck driving down the road. At the hotel, Chloe says they did good work but Mitch says they know nothing about the bacteria yet. Abraham says it’s an accomplishment. Jackson says the bacteria may not be inside the cats and bats. In Antarctica, we see empty cages at the facility. The bats left, but the lady scientists are frozen to death side by side.

Chloe sees Ben in the hall and says they think one of the team removed evidence from Evan’s cell. He says Kraft is on the way over to question them. They pack rapidly to make a run for it. Chloe gets a call from Jamie who says she hit the mother lode. Chloe tells her not to come back to the hotel and says they’ll meet at the car rental place. The gang pulls up and she says Kraft wants to blame someone. Jamie shows them the bible and the photo. It’s him with another guy – Jackson’s dad Robert Oz.
