Amal Alamuddin Backs Out Of ‘Women World Changers Summit’ – Leaves Fans Outraged – George Clooney Higher Priority?

Amal Alamuddin’s diva attitude is infuriating fans once again. This time around, George Clooney’s husband has canceled a long-awaited appearance at a Women World Changers Summit in Australia due to other work commitments.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Amal Alamuddin was scheduled to speak and have a meet-and-greet with fans who paid up to $1,000 to see the international human rights lawyer in the flesh. The event, which will take place in October in both Sydney and Melbourne, was planned several months in advance with many local Australian and aspiring female business leaders and owners looking forward to hear what the celebrity lawyer had to offer.

Yet, conference organizers say that Amal Alamuddin backed out because of work commitments and has been replaced with television star Waleed Aly. Many fans are downright angry that they spent $875 a ticket to see “Amal and not Waleed.”

Surely, conference attendees have every right to be upset at Amal Alamuddin for backing out at the last minute. The Australian conference is aimed at empowering and inspiring women and for Amal Alamuddin to cancel just goes to show that her priorities definitely lay elsewhere. Even though Amal Alamuddin always makes the time to fly all over the world with her husband George Clooney while he promotes his tequila brand from Mexico to Ibiza or be by his side at one of his Hollywood red carpet events, she can’t be bothered to make it to Australia to speak at an important women’s conference.

Even though Amal Alamuddin does a good job of commanding paparazzi presence on her own, it’s pretty clear that the event wasn’t simply worth her time or her effort for that matter, too. Could it be that the event struggled to sell tickets for fans to see Amal Alamuddin? Were event organizers hoping to generate more interest because of Amal Alamuddin’s scheduled appearance? Were Amal Alamuddin’s diva demands yet a problem once again?

There’s very little doubt that Amal Alamuddin would skip out on a flashy Hollywood event with George Clooney for her “work commitments” the same way she pulled out of the Women World Changers Summit in Australia.
