The last time Casey Anthony made headlines in a big way was when she was released from jail and offered a $1 million paycheck for telling her story including details of her daughter’s death. Now she’s back in the spotlight for allegedly paying her lawyer Jose Baez with sex.
This all came out as part of Casey Anthony’s bankruptcy case in Tampa, Florida. Even though Casey Anthony was found guilty in her 2011 trial, it was of lying to police, not for any charges related to the death of her toddler.
After Anthony was released after serving three years for the lying to cops bit, Al Taylor, an independent TV show producer, claims he met with Casey Anthony and offered a big payday to tell her story. It was a movie and book discussion, allegedly.
Taylor claimed that he met with Casey and her attorney Jose Baez for a short meeting to discuss the planned interview-based TV show. Al Taylor told CNN, “I made a plea to her last night” but added that Anthony’s attorney discouraged her for signing on for the project.
The interview never happened nor did the book deal that Taylor pitched, tentatively titled “Not Guilty.” Casey Anthony’s lawyer was involved in the book and TV talks, and now it seems he may have been collecting payment in an unorthodox manner.
Private investigator Dominic Casey file an extensive report with the Tampa, Florida bankruptcy court and the details are stunning. PI Casey says that Jose Baez told him that Casey Anthony confessed to him that she had killed daughter Caylee Anthony and hid the two-year-old’s body.
Dominic Casey claimed in court docs that “Baez had told me that Casey had murdered Caylee and dumped the body somewhere and he needed all the help he could get to find the body before anyone else did.” But Jose Baez denies he made these statements.
Of interest is that Dominic Casey worked as a PI for Baez’s team during Casey Anthony’s trial. The PI stated that he saw Casey Anthony naked in Jose Baez’s office and the investigator also said he heard Baez demanding oral sex for legal services rendered.
Jose Baez has denied all of these ugly allegations and threatened, but has not taken, legal action against Dominic Casey for what he called a “libelous claim.” Another claim in the PI’s statement is that infamous drug lord El Chapo donated cash to Casey Anthony’s legal fund.
Casey Anthony’s new attorney asked the bankruptcy court to seal the affidavit filed by Dominic Casey and denied the allegations in the documents. The PI said after he discovered the (alleged) sex for services deal between Casey Anthony and Baez, he quit working for the lawyer.
