CBS Renews 11 Television Shows, 7 Primetime Dramas: ‘Supergirl’ And ‘Code Black’ Not On List – Fans Shouldn’t Worry?

It’s that time of year – time to find out if your favorite CBS TV shows have been cancelled or renewed. CBS released a list of 11 television shows that have been officially renewed for the 2016-2017 season, and some of them might surprise you. What is even more surprising is some of the TV shows that did not make the list and seem to be hanging in limbo.

Of the 11 TV shows renewed by CBS, two of them are sitcoms, “2 Broke Girls” and Anna Feris’ “Mom.” Of course, “The Big Bang Theory” wasn’t on the list, that ratings goldmine received an early renewal from the network weeks ago. Jane Lynch’s sitcom “Angel From Hell” was already cancelled by CBS. Noticeably missing from the list was “Life In Pieces.”

7 of CBS’s renewed TV shows are their primetime dramas. According to the press release, the following dramas have been renewed for 2016-2016: “Blue Bloods,” “Criminal Minds,” “NCIS: Los Angeles,” “Elementary,” “NCIS: New Orleans,” “Hawaii Five-O,” and “Madam Secretary.” The original “NCIS” starring Mark Harmon received an early renewal weeks ago with “The Big Bang Theory.” And, it was announced earlier this year that CBS was finally pulling the plug on “The Good Wife” and the season airing right now will be its final season.

As far as their reality TV shows go, “Survivor” and “The Amazing Race” were also renewed by CBS. There is no news yet on “Big Brother,” but seeing as how it only airs during the summer, its renewal is generally announced at a different time than the other shows.

CBS’s new dramas “Code Black” and “Supergirl” were NOT on the list of renewals, but word on the internet is that they have not been cancelled, and fans should not fret.
