He tells his team to put the word out to all of the CI’s that whoever brings him a lead on who shot Justin will get paid the money. Hank hits the streets, he heads to one of Justin’s local hang outs and learns that he was there about a month ago with Melissa. Apparently, Justin got in a fight with a guy named Ginger that had a problem with Melissa. At her office, Erin talks to Melissa’s co-workers. Her boss reveals that Melissa was acting strangely. They worked a class action lawsuit and their plaintiffs were rewarded a $1 Million. Then less than a year later, all of the plaintiffs that got rewarded money were robbed in home invasions. They think that Melissa might have been involved and was feeding criminals the addresses of their clients that got settlements.

They finally get a lead on Ginger, they find him in a cheap hotel room where he pimps out girls. Hank heads there with his team after Hank roughs Ginger up a bit and he burns his face on the stove, he starts talking. Ginger says that Melissa was “banging” a guy named Kevin, and she was feeding him info for robberies. According to Ginger, Melissa called Justin to help her get out. Justin was supposed to meet Kevin at the social club to broker a deal to buy Melissa protection. Justin was going to pay Kevin $5000 to leave Melissa alone.
Hank heads back to the precinct and the Commander is waiting for him. She threatens Hank and tells him she wants him and his officers of the case ASAP. Hank isn’t listening, he tells the Commander that if she wants him off the case, she is going to have to put a bullet in his head, he is going to find out who shot his son.
Jay and Erin pull Kevin’s rap sheets –he’s on parole for stabbing someone 16 times. Kevin apparently is on the run and violated his parole and quit checking in with him. They have a possible address, it’s Kevin’s half-brother’s house. Erin corners Hank and wants to know if there is any word on Justin – Hank says all that he knows is that Justin was moved to ICU. Hank and his team head to Kevin’s brother’s house – Hank shoots him in the leg and demands to know where Kevin is. Apparently he was there the night before, he just stopped to pick up some guns and said that he was going out of town.
Hank heads back to the precinct and Goodwin is waiting for him – she wants to talk about Justin. Inside Hank’s office, Goodwin tells him that Justin is “not coming back.” Justin is on life support, Goodwin says that the bullet caused catastrophic brain damage, and he is not going to wake up. Olive wants to take Justin off life-support, but she wanted Goodwin to talk to Hank first and make sure it was okay. Hank leaves with Goodwin and heads to the hospital to say his goodbyes to Justin.
Back at the precinct, Erin is a mess, she cries to Burgess that it wasn’t Justin’s time – he was like a brother to her and he was finally getting his life together. Erin sobs that underneath all of Justin’s baggage he was “just a sweet kid,” and he got killed trying to help a friend.
The Commander calls Antonio into her office – she wants to know if it is true that Hank put a $90,000 bounty on the streets. Antonio goes to bat for Hank, he tells her that if his son was shot and killed, he would bend the rules too. The Commander tells Antonio that they are going to need him to take over for Hank. Antonio says he isn’t a rat …
Hank’s CI Rev calls him and says that he has an address on Kevin – but they have to move fast. Hank’s team rushed to the house and storm it with their guns drawn. They get to the house and it appears to be empty – Erin realizes that Hank played them, and gave them a fake address so that he could get to Kevin himself.
Meanwhile, Hank meets the men from the social club down at the river – they pop their trunk and Kevin is inside, bound and gagged. Kevin begs Hank not to kill him and even offers him $500,000. Hank unties Kevin and tells him to start digging – he gives him a shovel to dig his own grave.
Erin is driving around frantically trying to find Hank before he does something crazy. She finds hi down at the river bank in the rain with Kevin. She begs Hank not to throw everything away for Kevin, Erin screams that Justin wouldn’t have wanted this. Hank won’t reason with her – he tells her to get back in her car. Erin leaves and Kevin continues to taunt Hank, as Erin is driving away she hears a gunshot. Hank kills Kevin and buries him in the rain by the river.
THE END!
