Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that a casting shakeup could be playing on screen pretty soon. Jason47’s Days website is reporting that Paige Searcy is out as Jade. She’s already finished filming her final scenes and her last appearance will be in early 2017.
Naturally, that news has led to a lot of speculation about what’s ahead for the character. Many DOOL fans have been throwing around the miscarriage idea. Others think Jade’s baby belongs to someone besides Joey (James Lastovic).
Those options are certainly possible, but there’s a good chance Jade won’t leave town in despair. If she does, she may not be gone long. Days of Our Lives spoilers hint that an actress named Gabrielle Haugh has joined the cast as an unrevealed character.
Haugh will join the younger group and it’s been confirmed that she’s indeed a recast of someone. Claire (Olivia Rose Keegan) isn’t going anywhere, so that leaves Ciara (Vivian Jovanni) and Jade as the only options currently on canvas. There have been rumblings about Vivian Jovanni’s potential departure, but it looks like that recast might happen further down the road.
Since Haugh debuts in early 2017 and Searcy exits in the same time frame, it makes sense that Haugh is taking over for Searcy. Jade has received mixed reviews from Days of Our Lives viewers so far. Some people think she’s spiced things up and others think she’s an unnecessary annoyance.
Regardless, it appears we could get a fresh take on the character. Jade is by no means the perfect woman for Joey, but it’s easy to see why DOOL wanted to keep her around in some form. Joey needs a love interest who isn’t related to him.
Days could’ve brought in someone new, but why bother when they’ve been establishing this character? Jade came on the scene in February of this year, so everyone has had a chance to get to know her by now. She fits in fairly well.
Plus, having a new face in the role gives them an opportunity to try a new style. It’ll be a slight reboot without having to start from scratch. As for Joey and Jade’s future, it’s tough to say what’s next.
Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) wasn’t pleased when she received the pregnancy test results from the hospital. It confirmed that Jade is indeed expecting. Jade doesn’t seem smart enough to rig a legit test, so this might be the real deal.
If Jade loses the baby, it could bring her closer to Joey. They may have bonded over the whole idea of parenthood by then. On the other hand, Jade could have somebody else’s bun in the oven. In that case, Joey and Jade will have some issues.
