Fresh General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Morgan Corinthos will return even though Bryan Craig’s final fiery scenes as the troubled young man played out explosively on the Friday, October 7 episode of GH. You can see that GH showrunners have neatly set the stage for a recast to come in the next few months.
On the Monday, October 10 new GH episode, Jason Morgan (Billy Miller) will search the wreckage of the car explosion and come out with nothing to show for it but burned hands. There are first responders on the scene and everyone is searching for Morgan, but GH spoilers reveal his body will NOT be found.
This would not be the first time someone “died” in a car crash in Port Charles without a body to put in the coffin. Remember when Carly Corinthos (then-Tamara Braun) showed up to her own funeral and stunned everyone? Of course, in the case of Morgan, the missing body is for the coming recast.
Whether GH showrunners do a recast in a couple of months or a couple of years, this is the perfect way to end the character of Morgan for now. Given the explosion that happened right in Morgan’s face, he’s no doubt suffered extensive burns. Plus, you have to factor in the geography of the accident.
When Jason calls Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) to let him know about the explosion and that Morgan is missing, Jason says he’s at Angel’s Bluff. If you stayed awake in geography class, you know that a bluff is a cliff that is usually above a body of water. So picture Morgan’s accident with that in mind.
He’s blown back by the explosion, tumbles down the cliff and floats away until he’s found downstream. With his mental condition already spiraling, when Morgan is found, he’ll be disoriented. Plus, Morgan was already thinking about running away when Jason stopped him.
Morgan could see this as an opportunity to escape from who he was in Port Charles. That means he might lie and give a fake name so that his parents aren’t notified. Plus, with the burns to his face, he’ll need extensive plastic surgery to recover. That sets the stage for a new actor to take on the role.
This opens up a lot of storyline opportunities. Morgan could come back to Port Charles with this new face and not tell his family who he is. He could return home and adopt a new identity so he could be around those he loves without the pressure of being “Morgan Corinthos.”
Or he might come strolling back in town, announce who he is, and we have to go through the whole DNA testing to make sure he’s a match for Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright). Missing without a dead body leaves the door wide open for a recast.
GH spoilers tease we won’t see a recast for a while but it could come as early as a few months or up to a year from now. But with Morgan’s busy storyline activity, lots of family in Port Chuck, the issue of his mental illness plus his love triangle with Kiki Jerome (Hayley Erin), it seems like a sooner recast is likely.
