General Hospital (GH) spoilers suggest that Tom Baker’s (Don Harvey) murderer is his own brother, Seth (Michael Rodrick)! Fans know that Tom Baker was not going to last long on the streets of Port Charles. He had raped nurse Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and tormented the late Emily Quartermaine (then-Amber Tamblyn) as teenagers, and when he was released, he was on the radar of reformed serial killer, Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth)
Franco abducted Tom, and kept him locked in a cage with a shock collar around his neck. After a visit to his mother, Heather Webber (Robin Mattson), Franco returns to let Tom go. Tom had already escaped the cage and instead he chloroforms Franco and places him in the cage with the shock collar on. Tom leaves the studio and no one sees him again.
General Hospital’s Franco has the perfect alibi now that Tom has been murdered, but first he would have to admit to Liz and the police what he did, and then prove that he was actually tied up around the time the murder happened. Franco was literally ‘locked up” at the time of the murder, clearly leaving the guilty finger pointing at Seth Baker.
Seth was Tom’s brother but he had openly admitted to Franco that he didn’t blame him for attacking his brother, and had he been in the same position, he would have done the same thing. Clearly, there is no love lost between these two, and Seth was deeply embarrassed and ashamed for what his brother had done. It wouldn’t take much for him to go a step further and rid his life of his scummy brother.
Seth may have committed the crime, but it is clear that Franco is going to be the one blamed for it. He is the one who made a very public display of how much he hated Tom, and he risked everything to protect the woman he loved, no matter how deluded his intentions were; too bad Liz doesn’t truly stand by Franco and believes he is capable of such a crime.
