The much anticipated 4-episode ‘Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life’ made its Netflix premiere Friday, November 25. Fans waited nearly a decade to find out what happened to Rory [Alexis Bledel], Lorelei [Lauren Graham], Emily [Kelly Bishop] and Luke [Scott Patterson].
‘Gilmore Girl’ viewers got answers during the 90-minutes of each new episode. But the final installment of ‘Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life’ with more questions. One of those questions – will there be more episodes? Especially since Rory caught Lorelei off-guard with very unexpected news.
Now that viewers have binge-watched the four 90-minute episodes then want to know when, or if, there will be more installments. Producer Amy Sherman-Palladino told The Hollywood Reporter that as far as she is concerned Rory and Lorelei’s story has been told – for now.
“We really had a very specific journey in our minds and we fulfilled the journey,” Amy Sherman-Palladino revealed in the interview. But the producer did leave the door open for a revisit to Rory and Lorelei’s lives again.
Scott Patterson, Luke to ‘Gilmore Girl’ viewers, thinks it would be a great idea to peek in on the gang occasionally. Talking about the reunion, Patterson said, “It’s been nice. To do it every year, maybe every two years [we can do a three-month long thing, do four more chapters.”
Given the way the four chapter of ‘Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life’ ended, fans deserve at least four more installments. Rory’s shocking everyone with the news she is pregnant begs for more episodes.
Amy Sherman-Palladino is remaining tightlipped about additional installments of ‘Gilmore Girls.’ The showrunner revealed she is waiting to see how fans react to the latest update on Rory and Lorelei before making any decisions.
That still leaves fans hanging, fans who invested years into Rory’s love life. Who can forget the Team Dean, Team Jess and Team Logan controversy? Viewers want to know – is Logan [Matt Czuchry] the father or Rory’s baby? If so, the pregnancy could have repercussions on Logan’s engagement to a French heiress.
Will ‘Gilmore Girl’ fans get another four-part installment in the saga of Rory, Logan, Luke and Lorelei? It all depends on the feedback from ‘Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life’ according to the showrunner. So far, the fan feedback has been positive.
