Nick and his friends no longer trust Captain Rennard however there was nothing they could while they remained in the dark about whether or not Rennard was also Black Claw. Yet, Eve had an idea on tonight’s episode of “Grimm”. She asked the guys if they could help her complete the spell that had once made her Adalind and Adalind her. And apparently she wanted to do that with Rennard.
Eve said that the only way they could get answers about what Rennard was up to was if she smoked that hat again and literally became him. Which she assured Rosalee will work because she had tried it once before and knew that changing anatomy could work. Though Rosalee had later told the rest that she still didn’t think it was a good guy.
She said “Eve” looked different as if she wasn’t exactly the Juliette that had been good nor was she the Juliette that turned evil. So Rosalee wanted to keep an eye on the situation, but she and her friends were looking into several things at once. It seems Monroe’s professor friend had finally gotten back to him so they had someone they could ask to translate the many texts they need to understand.
However, there wasn’t the only thing they had on their plate. Nick, Hank, and Wu had later gotten called to a crime. A man by the name of Luke Merkler had been acting as a security guard at a tent revival when he caught someone taking video and tried to confiscate the cell phone. And, well, things got out of hand.
Luke got into a scuffle with the man that had taken the video and it ended with Ben pushing Luke to the ground. So while he hadn’t meant to hurt anyone, Ben accidentally killed Luke because Luke’s head had hit a rock that was lying right underneath him. And therefore the police were holding Ben responsible for what happened.
Yet, Ben had fled the scene before they could arrive. So the police put out an APB on him while he had actually been across town with a woman that called herself a prophet. This prophet had been Joan Vark and Joan had been married to Dwight Eleazar. Dwight being the preacher that didn’t allow cameras into the tent because he didn’t want anyone to know that he wasn’t calling upon the devil to cleanse others of their sin, he was simply woge into his true form.
Dwight later explained to the Grim that he wasn’t hurting anyone. He said he merely was providing hope and giving others the chance to let go of their guilt. In other words he didn’t believe that what he was doing was wrong and he had actually told Nick and Hank that he wasn’t going to stop seeing as they would have to arrest every preacher out there if doing good suddenly became a crime.
Only some people did see a crime. Like Joan for instance. She developed a following of people that believed the devil really was inside of Dwight and so she convinced these people that they should drive the devil out of him. And unfortunately her plan included Benjamin. Benjamin had the money that the Church of the Word of God had collected in order to buy off one of Dwight’s guards and it had been Benjamin’s job to capture Dwight alive.
But the police had changed a few things. Nick and Hank had arrested Benjamin while he still had the money on him so the church didn’t have the means to pay off the guard. They had to rely on convincing the man that was supposed to protect Dwight that he just had to hand the preacher over in order for them to cast the devil out. Once and for all!
So that church had gotten their hands on Dwight and the police had been too slow to realize it. Nick had gotten the call that Eve had changed into Rennard so he and Hank had gone about trying to distract Rennard from going home. And that had ended up delaying them. Until Joan and her followers managed to stab Dwight several times as a way to get the devil out.
And therefore the detectives had missed their chance to save Dwight, but they did manage to arrest his murderers who won’t be able to use the devil as an actual reason for murdering a man.
However, Eve wasn’t able to get much on her end either. She had changed face as well as anatomy yet she couldn’t get any answers to her questions because she hadn’t been planning on sex with Rachel. Much less going through with it. So she had been a little daunted to find the one major flaw in her plan.
Monroe’s professor friend on the other hand did come through for them. The professor was able to find text on the old parchment the guys had had handed to him. And from there Rosalee was able to decipher what the parchment said, but she hadn’t liked the message they read.
If her interpretation of the Latin was correct then that the they’ve been trying to figure out has been warning them about a potential danger.
THE END!
