The serial killer of all serial killers was still out there and he had personally left McGarrett a gift on tonight’s episode of “Hawaii Five-0” however the behavioral analyst that McGarrett and Danny later talked to had said that the chess piece from the serial killer hadn’t been a threat. Alicia Brown had apparently thought the chess piece had been a way for the serial killer to tell McGarrett that he had admired. So of course Danny had scoffed at that, but Alicia had said that he had left pawn pieces for the people that had acted as a surrogates and that he had left the knight exclusively for McGarrett. And that indicated that McGarrett was of a higher caliber to the serial killer.
But Alicia also warned the guys. She hadn’t wanted to go back with them to work on the case yet she knew that she needed to warn them while she had the chance about the man they were hunting. Alicia said that the fact this serial killer was able to find like-minded individuals and make them kill for his own amusement meant that he was capable of a higher and sophisticated form of manipulation. So she told the guys that they shouldn’t underestimate the killer because they’ll find him when he wants to be found. And so the guys had been told that they were going to be playing the waiting with the serial killer because it was the serial killer that was going to make the next move first.
The guys’ next case, however, had nothing to do with their serial killer. They had instead been called out to a hotel where the body of a young woman had been found and strangely enough their body was connected to a disavowed British SAS officer. The former British spy was Harry Langford. He had apparently gotten too caught up in the underworld that he had been investigating and so his people had no other than to cut him loose. Yet, naturally they weren’t sending people after him because they couldn’t find him. So tonight Five-0 were forced to see him as their own problem. The spy had had contact with their victim before she died and they had a reason to believe that he had might have stolen something from her.
The spy and the victim whose real name was Casta Mitchell had crossed paths at an upscale party that only Casta had been invited to. However, some of the hired girls for that party had remembered hearing rumors about a robbery and that Langford later had been escorted out of the party although not before he flirted quite heavily with Casta. So Five-0 theorized that Langford did steal something at that party and that he had gotten up on Casta in order to slip something into her purse in case someone searched him. And so the unit were trying to figure out if he killed Casta afterwards to get his hands back on the stolen good when Alicia stopped by their offices.
McGarrett had seemingly “left” behind the chess piece at her home and so she had to return it. Although, they both knew that he had left the piece behind on purpose in order to entice her and the plan worked. Alicia had looked at their case and she had found something. Alicia found out that the three serial killers that had been working with the man they working were looking for had had a common link. So she had come down to the station to return the piece and also to tell McGarrett that three of their serial killers had all been investigated by officer Phillip Lau. Phillip had been investigating these men off the books and that’s why there was no record of it.
Though the guys couldn’t talk to Phillip Lau for themselves. Phillip had killed himself six months ago and so their case on the serial killer kept on getting odder and odder. Who found those men first? The serial killer or Phillip Lau? So there was nothing they could do about the serial killer until they got further information and so they instead shifted their focus back onto their case with the spy. The Langford had been spotted and so the unit gave chase. They chased him with the car and later they chased him on foot yet eventually they had him cornered when he went one on one with McGarrett.
McGarrett was still healing from his accident and surgery, but he managed to hold his own until Danny was able to sneak up behind up Langford. Yet, all was not as it seemed with Langford. He had eventually admitted that the British government only disavowed him in order for him to infiltrate the shadier underworld. So his arrest had actually been an inconvenience because Langford had been close to figuring out what Lucky Moran had been doing with a radical at his party. And so the party had been a way for him to find information on Moran and Casta had been a cover for him when things had gotten tight.
Moran though had been the focus of the party. Moran was an Egyptian national with a lot of time and apparently not enough sense. So he had gotten mixed up with radicals and a joint task force was able to get him to talk once they realized that terrorism could be involved. But Moran had merely been a kid playing with the big boys. He had handed off information because he could and not because he knew the full impact of what he was doing. And so Danny and McGarrett had to take a little trip with Langford just to find the man that did know about the imminent attack.
The guys had risked getting back on a plane because they knew that the odds were important. However, they didn’t how important their mission was. The men had been tracking was going to detonate all the radioactive plants throughout Europe and it would have decimated the whole region. So the guys had found the laptop as in the one that carried the launch codes for the attack and they tried to disarm it, but Langford didn’t know how to shut it down so McGarrett had instead just shot the thing. He had shot the laptop because he figured they didn’t have anything to lose and it turns out his way of doing things had worked.
Five-0 with Langford’s help had been able to stop a massive attack against Europe however there was something off about Langford. He had taken the key to the destruction with him and so both Danny and McGarrett had had to track him down in the Middle East. Although, thankfully Langford hadn’t been a terrorist himself. Langford had simply wanted to use the key as a way of finding the man that had killed his wife. So he was still a patriot underneath it all and his little detour hadn’t been because he was going to betray the Queen.
But the guys found Langford and they helped complete his mission. They later found the man that had killed his wife and unexpectedly they had been forced to shoot that particular terrorist yet no one knew that Langford had almost lost sight of everything because he wanted revenge. So eventually Danny, McGarrett, and Langford were all given honors from the Queen. Who had wanted to thank them for serving the realm.
