Jared Fogle Prison Beating: Bloody Nose, Swollen Face Received From Outraged Inmate Steven Nigg

Jared Fogle was injured during a fight in the recreation yard at the Colorado correctional facility where he has been imprisoned. Fellow inmate Steven Nigg tackled Jared to the ground and repeatedly punched the convicted felon in the face.

TMZ reports that Jared’s legal team has no comment at this time. The incident, which left Jared with a swollen face, bloody nose and a scratched neck. Nigg was also injured – he had cuts on his left hand – probably from beating he administered.

The attack on Jared Fogle occurred because Steven Nigg is fed up with the amount of child sex offenders who are housed at the Englewood Correctional Facility in Colorado. Jared is currently serving a nearly 16-year sentence after pleading guilty to traveling to have sex with a minor as well as receipt and delivery of child pornography.

The other inmate was put in solitary confinement as punishment for attacking Jared. Steven is serving time on a weapons charge.

There have been reports that Jared has gained over 30 pounds while behind bars because he has been binge eating due to stress – also no Subway diets available in the slammer.

As previously reported, attorneys for Jared filed an appeal to have the former Subway spokesman’s sentence reduced. They argue that Indiana District Court Judge Tanya Wade abused her privilege when sentencing Jared. Really?

The original plea agreement reached between Jared’s legal team and the prosecution was that Jared would not seek less than five years in prison and the court would not sentence him to more than twelve-and-a-half years.

Jared Fogle’s lawyers want the order thrown out and a new sentence put in place. Jared’s attorney Ronald Elberger argued in the appeal that the prosecutors had all the information that the District Court had and still agreed to the “below-guidelines sentence that adequately reflected the severity of the crimes to which Fogle pleaded.”

At this time there appears to be no further information available regarding Steven Nigg’s attack on Jared Fogle. What do they say, “if you can’t do the time, don’t do the crime?” Let us know what you think in the comments section below and come back to CDL for the latest celebrity justice news.
