Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo’s engagement news means the Duggars are on the fast track to planning their next media spectacle: Jinger Duggar’s wedding. Even though Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo’s courtship only began five short weeks ago, some fans can’t help but wonder if Michelle Duggar and Jim Bob Duggar are rushing the relationship to benefit their family’s ’19 Kids and Counting’ brand.
After all, whenever a Duggar sister gets married or becomes pregnant, it’s the only way the Duggar family can generate any positive headlines these days. Michelle Duggar and Jim Bob Duggar desperately want the public to forget about Josh Duggar’s sex scandals from last summer, especially now that the former reality television star is back at home after his six-month stint at a faith-based rehabilitation program.
It doesn’t look like people are going to forget Josh Duggar anytime soon. Fans criticized the Duggar family after reports indicated that Josh Duggar might make an appearance on the family’s spin-off show, “Jill and Jessa: Counting On” so he can tell fans his side of the story. Unfortunately, no one at this point wants to hear it, as the father-of-four is still being labeled as a sex predator who was unfaithful to his wife, Anna Duggar, before finally being outed by the media.
At this point, Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo’s wedding is the only thing that can save the Duggar family’s public image as they hope to win back the fans they lost during the Josh Duggar scandals.
The couple shared a statement to People Magazine that read, “We are so excited to take this next step in spending our lives together. We are so grateful for how the Lord has brought us together. It has been an incredible journey so far and we are excited about serving Christ together in the coming days.”
Surely, a 5-week courtship isn’t enough time for Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo to get to know each other, but knowing how much Michelle Duggar and Jim Bob Duggar rely on positive publicity, these two will be married and starting a family in no time. After all, it is solely up to Jinger Duggar to make sure that her family doesn’t fade away into reality television oblivion.
