John Mayer took a swipe at his ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift on her birthday this week. He labeled her birthday as the ‘lamest day of the year.’ Taylor has credited her December 13th birthday as being her luck number as well. The couple dated for three months back in 2009 before Taylor pulled the plug on their brief relationship.
John took to his Twitter account to throw his shade at Taylor on her birthday. He wrote, “Tuesday, December 13 may be the lamest day of the year, conceptually.” After deleting the original tweet, John defended himself from his critics. He followed up with, “NOPE. No. Nuh-uh. People I am 39. I am deleting those tweets. Come right at me for doing so, absolutely no shade.”
Some sources say that John has been secretly hoping to rekindle his romance with Taylor Swift. After all, John was Taylor’s first boyfriend and her first celebrity relationship. In fact, eyewitnesses say that John desperately tried to talk to Taylor during Drake’s birthday party back in October. But Taylor did everything she could to avoid him at the party.
So does this mean that John Mayer is still not over his Taylor Swift break up? That’s what both fans and critics alike can’t help but wonder. The only person who knows the truth is John himself.
Of course, no one knows what went on between Taylor Swift and John Mayer behind closed doors. Taylor did write about their messy romance in her hit song, ‘Dear John.’ But since then, she has not made any public comments about their relationship. Insiders close to John say that he simply can’t move on from whatever happened between them.

And that’s why she doesn’t want to deal with John and his drama, too. The last thing she needs is negative publicity.
