Kate Middleton and Prince William are by far the most recognizable names in the British royal family and that’s why they often get preferential treatment by both the public and the press. And that’s why there’s new speculation that other members of the monarchy might upset that they don’t seem to get as many privileges and lavish gifts as the Duke and Duchess do even though they don’t always deserve it.
While Kate Middleton and Prince William are enjoying ‘freebies’ such as gifts in the form of luxurious cars and trips to the most exclusive destinations in the world, other members of the royal family are being shunned. Sure, Prince William and Kate Middleton might one day be the next King and Queen of England, but they have also long been considered the ‘laziest royal couple’ in recent history. Yet, they practically live for free while the British tax payers fund their royal lifestyle.
Yet, other royals such as Prince William’s brother Prince Harry has managed to maintain a modest image in the public while also taking his royal duties and responsibilities seriously. While Kate Middleton and Prince William spent their family vacation in the South of France in a ‘borrowed’ chateau, Prince Harry traveled to Malawi to help save 500 endangered elephants to a wildlife reserve.
If that weren’t enough, Prince Harry lives in a two-bedroom cottage which is a far cry from Prince William and Kate Middleton’s apartment at Anmer Hall, which has been extensively renovated.
And of course, there’s also the more recent news that Prince William’s cousin Princess Eugenie will be moving next door to the Duke and Duchess at Kensington Palace. The 26-year-old currently lives in a taxpayer-funded apartment with her sister Princess Beatrice but will be paying rent for a three-bedroom cottage in the grounds of Kensington Palace.
Kate Middleton has perhaps not paid for one single thing since marrying Prince William yet other members of the royal family have to pay rent to live next to her while also watch her endlessly showered with attention and gifts from all around the world.
So far, Buckingham Palace has not made any comments about Princess Beatrice’s move, but it will only be a matter of time before the 26-year-old royal is photographed living next to her cousins Prince William and Prince Harry.
