Is Kate Middleton a fashion disappointment with no natural flair for style like Princess Diana? Kate Middleton is once again being slammed for being too dull and boring when it comes to her style and fashion choices. In fact, Irish designer Paul Costelloe went on the record to say that he was anything but impressed with Kate’s recent Vogue cover, which has received plenty of mixed reviews.
He told the Independent that he was “very disappointed with Kate’s Vogue cover,” echoing what many other designers have been saying for months now. Many have said that the country-style shoot was too casual with Costelloe adding that it was “nothing like Diana at all,” referencing the Duchess’ late mother-in-law Princess Diana, who is still considered one of her generation’s biggest style icons to this day.
So why is the media still fawning over each and every outfit Kate Middleton wears even though she fails to pull off her looks with the same natural grace Princess Diana had only two decades ago? That’s what critics want to know.
It’s without a doubt that Kate Middleton doesn’t have the same charisma, the same style or even the same aura that Princess Diana had during her prime. Plenty of critics thought that Kate’s Vogue cover was underwhelming but because so many people think of her as a style icon, no one wants to say it.
Even her biggest fans know that the only thing Kate Middleton has to offer is her style, as she is yet to convince anyone that she is a royal who truly cares or is passionate about her charity work.
If that weren’t enough, Kate’s star is beginning to fade. She’s been wearing the same uniform of dresses during each and every one of her royal engagements and has failed to impress anyone during her overseas state trips to India and Bhutan and more recently, Canada.
She just doesn’t have the natural ability or the statuesque figure Princess Diana once had to carry a dress the way it’s supposed to be worn. That, and of course the lack of self-confidence is more than evident each time she is photographed slouching or looking both tense and awkward in public.
Tell us, do you agree with Paul Costelloe’s criticism of Kate Middleton’s British Vogue cover? Sure, the cover had the potential to be a timeless classic but as many critics continue to point it, it instead came out to be boring, underwhelming and forgetful instead.
