Kate Middleton’s sister Pippa Middleton is getting the VIP treatment from celebrity designer Giles Deacon. The 2006 British Fashion Designer of the Year was spotted leaving Pippa’s home carrying a very large dress bag.
Pippa Middleton must be using her Royal connections if the celebrated designer is schlepping wedding gown samples to Pippa’s home. The Middletons are wealthy, but do Michael and Carole Middleton have the kind of money that would bring a world-renowned designer to their home?
Daily Mail published photos of Giles Deacon leaving Pippa Middleton and fiancé James Matthews’ home with two large garment bags. No one knows for certain, but those bags were certainly big enough to contain a wedding dress or two. There may also have been a sample of the dress Kate Middleton will wear to Pippa’s 2017 wedding.
Giles Deacon has been on the haute couture fashion scene for several years. Before branching out and creating his own label, GILES, the designer was employed by the fashion houses of Bottega Veneta and Gucci. In 2004, with his first collection, Giles was named the Best New Designer of the Year at London Fashion Week.
The designs Giles creates are playful and tend to challenge the traditional ideas of what a woman should wear. His clothing lines contain lots of wild prints and tend to be dark and sexy. His designs have been called “structured big-entrance dresses which are aimed at women who want to be noticed.”
Pippa Middleton definitely wants to be noticed. Kate Middleton’s sister made quite the impression at the Duchess of Cambridge’s April 2011 wedding with the body-hugging white maid of honor dress. Is it any wonder Pippa would go all out for her own wedding gown?
David Emanuel, one half of the designer partnership that created Princess Diana’s wedding gown, has previously stated he would dress Pippa Middleton in chiffon dress with a lace bodice and a dramatic train. Emanuel thinks Pippa should wear something the exact opposite of the Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding dress.
If Pippa were your average wealthy socialite would she receive this type of VIP treatment from an award-winning designer? Probably not. Being Kate Middleton’s sister certainly has its perks. Come back to CDL to see all the Royal news and reports!
