Kate Middleton will be Queen of England someday and you think that would be enough for the commoner who married Prince William. But we all know Kate is obsessed with living a Hollywood lifestyle and keeps chasing after it.
Princess Charlene of Monaco is a minor player in the world of the Royals, but Prince Albert’s wife lives the elusive glamorous Hollywood lifestyle the Duchess of Cambridge so desperately craves. That was evident as Charlene walked the red carpet in NYC for the 2016 Princess Grace Awards on October 24.
Wearing a white Dior gown studded with embroidered shamrocks, Charlene rubbed elbows with 2016 Princess Grace Award winners Naomi Campbell, Queen Latifah, and acclaimed actor and singer Leslie Odom, Jr.
The Princess Grace Foundation is dedicated to finding and helping emerging talent in theater, dance and film. The foundation will award grants, scholarships, apprenticeships and fellowships; a total of $1 million has been awarded to artists in theater, dance, and film.
Naomi Campbell took to the stage to introduce Princess Charlene, calling Her Serene Highness “A true philanthropist, and has one of the biggest hearts, a soul sister, a friend.” Naomi also pointed out that Charlene is an Olympic gold medalist.
Of course, Kate Middleton has met hundreds of celebrities since marrying Prince William. All say how lovely the Duchess of Cambridge is, just lovely. Have we ever heard any celebrity refer to Kate as a philanthropist with a big heart?
Princess Charlene and Kate Middleton have a few things in common. Prince Albert was a well-known playboy and acknowledged two children he fathered out-of-wedlock.
Prince William allegedly cheated on Kate with former girlfriend Jecca Craig during a supposed ‘guys only’ hunting trip in Spain. Cheating allegations were reignited when William made a not-so-secret trip to attend Jecca’s wedding over Easter weekend in 2015.
Not long after Jecca’s wedding, her new husband, Jonathan Baillie, inadvertently spilled the beans and revealed the couple had welcomed a baby boy. There were a few whispers regarding the paternity of the wee one but nothing more ever came of the questions.
Kate and Charlene’s paths may cross in the future. Princess Charlene and Prince Albert’s twins, Princess Gabriella and Prince Jacques, were born in December 2014. Prince George, 3, and Princess Charlotte, 1, will someday need to be matched with suitable spouses. Who better than Princess Gabriella and Prince Jacques of Monaco?
Imagine that? What an interesting combination of Royal houses that would be. The Royal family would probably breathe a sigh of relief if George and Charlotte didn’t marry commoners. Set up the play dates now! Keep checking CDL for all of your royal news!
