Kate Middleton Outdone by Sophie Wessex at Queen Elizabeth's 90th Birthday Celebration

Kate Middleton was outdone by Sophie Wessex at Queen Elizabeth’s 90th birthday celebration. Sophie’s daughter Lady Louise was granted the special honor of riding with dad Prince Edward, aunt Princess Anne and cousin Zara Phillips on Sunday, May 15.

Louise and younger brother James, along with Countess Sophie Wessex, were invited to join Queen Elizabeth at the Royal Windsor Horse Show. If that weren’t enough to reveal Queen Elizabeth prefers Sophie’s company to Kate Middleton’s, Sophie’s son James enjoyed a play date in a bouncy house with Peter Phillips and his daughters the same day.

Princess Charlotte may be too young to enjoy the bouncy house that Louise, James and the Phillips’ girls Savannah and Isla played in. At nearly three-years-old George is certainly old enough to enjoy a bouncy house don’t you think?

Queen Elizabeth’s great-granddaughters’, Five-year-old Savannah Phillips and four-year-old sister Isla Phillips, had lots of fun. Though Isla did look a bit frightened her first time through. James had loads of fun as published photos show.

George isn’t that much younger than Princess Anne’s grandchildren so why wasn’t he invited along? Maybe because Sophie Wessex and Queen Elizabeth had no desire to spend any more time with the Duchess of Cambridge as is absolutely necessary?

Sophie is a very low key, low maintenance Royal while Kate is beyond high maintenance and craves the Hollywood lifestyle. Queen Elizabeth and Sophie share a love of history, something Kate has shown little to no interest in despite the fact that she will be Queen someday.

The rivalry between Sophie Wessex and Kate Middleton was reignited not long ago when Sophie gave an interview about the Wessex family. Sophie revealed that Louise didn’t even realize her granny was THE Queen until just recently and is still a bit confused.

Sophie also told the reporter that Louise and James are being raised as normally as possible and when they grow up Queen Elizabeth’s grandchildren will need to get real jobs in order to support themselves.

This was seen as a criticism by Sophie regarding what Kate says and what Kate actually does when it comes to raising Prince George and Princess Charlotte. The Duchess of Cambridge trots George and Charlotte for as many photo opportunities as possible.

Sophie monitors how much press exposure Louise and James receive very carefully. Allowing Lady Louise to ride out in the horse show for the final extravaganza in celebration of Queen Elizabeth’s 90th birthday was something very special. Most likely Edward and Sophie won’t allow much press access to their children for months.

Has Countess Sophie Wessex garnered even more favor with Queen Elizabeth? It’s obvious that Louise shares granny’s love of horses. Kate Middleton, so far, has shown absolutely no interest in history, horses or corgis, three things Queen Elizabeth adores. No wonder Queen Elizabeth prefers Sophie to Kate.
