Kate Middleton has a sexy new look and went all Hollywood for the Art Fund Museum of the Year Awards ceremony. The Duchess of Cambridge wore an off the shoulder clingy cream-colored dress designed by Barbara Casasola and pink suede stilettos to present the award for Museum of the Year.
It wasn’t just the Hollywood glam dress and shoes that made the evening seem like Oscar night. Kate Middleton giggled and joked like an Oscar presenter about not being able to open the envelope before announcing the Victoria and Albert Museum the 2016 winner.
When it comes to fashion Kate Middleton has been criticized and scrutinized mercilessly for her fashion choices. This new look just may be the right one for the Duchess of Cambridge. The dress fit properly and there were no wardrobe malfunctions.
For the first time in we don’t know how long Kate showed off what little curves she does have. Is Kate reaching back into the past for fashion inspiration?
At the Somme 100 Commemorative services in France Kate was compared to Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis with her little black pillbox hat. Now it seems that the 34-year-old Kate is channeling Princess Diana and finally stepping out in more daring and sexy outfits.
Who can forget the barely knee-length black dress Diana wore out just after her divorce from Prince Charles became final? Right up until her death in August 1997 Princess Diana’s fashion choices had become bolder and sexier.
There’s one small change that could have made Kate Middleton’s clingy off the shoulder dress just a little bit more daring – the color. Kate should have gone with either a vibrant red or something similar to the color or her blush pink suede stilettos.
But this cream-colored knit dress was definitely better than the horrid gowns Kate wore during her tour of India and Bhutan with Prince William in April.
There is one other thing Kate could have done to make the entire ensemble more glamourous and sophisticated. Kate really needs to find a better hairdresser – or a hairdresser period.
