Has Kate Middleton been ignored by Queen Elizabeth once again in favor of rival Countess Sophie Wessex? Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip invited Sophie Wessex to accompany them to a Service of Thanksgiving at Westminster Abbey on Thursday, November 24. The service celebrated the Diamond Anniversary of the Duke of Edinburgh Awards. Who wasn’t invited? Kate Middleton, who it seems was snubbed once again by Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip.
The DofE has outreaches in 140 countries and in its 60 years of existence has inspired millions of young people between the ages of 14 and 24 to serve in their communities, develop a sense of adventure and reach beyond their classrooms to learn skills that will be most useful to them in the future.
As you can see, receiving a Duke of Edinburgh Award is a major accomplishment. Founded 60 years ago by Prince Philip at the request of a former headmaster. The DofE is described as the world’s leading achievement award for young people. Millions of lives around the world have been transformed by the accomplishments of these young leaders.
Is it any wonder Countess Sophie would be invited by Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip to the Service of Thanksgiving? While Kate Middleton was off enjoying a luxurious vacation in France this past summer, Sophie was training for the grueling 450-mile Duke of Edinburgh Cycling Challenge.
The DofE embodies everything Kate Middleton is not. The work-shy Duchess of Cambridge only serves the community when it suits her best interests. Kate’s sense of adventure only kicks in if it involves a private jet on loan from millionaire friends and luxury vacations at private villas.
We’ll give Kate credit for reaching beyond the classroom to develop skills that will be the most useful in life. Kate Middleton learned the art of manipulation from mum Carole Middleton. Kate used that skill to manipulate herself right into a marriage to Prince William.
It’s been said that Queen Elizabeth favors Sophie Wessex. Probably because Her Majesty and the Countess of Wessex share a love of history and have been said to sneak off and pour over ancient historical documents whenever possible.
Let’s not forget, Sophie Wessex knows how to live a low-key lifestyle yet still manage to fulfill Royal obligations. The Countess of Wessex and Princes Edward are the least troublesome Royal couple.
Maybe Kate was asked to attend the Duke of Edinburgh Awards Diamond Anniversary celebration. It’s possible the Duchess of Cambridge needed to rest up after a grueling evening spent at the Place2Be Awards ceremony presenting the Child Champion Award.
