Royal watchers are wondering if Meghan Markle will be welcomed by Kate Middleton and join the Royal Family at Sandringham for Christmas. Has Queen Elizabeth invited Prince Harry’s girlfriend and ‘Suits’ actress to celebrate the holidays with the Royal Family? Is Buckingham Palace preparing to make a Christmas engagement announcement between Meghan Markle and Prince Harry?
Meghan and Prince Harry have been apart for nearly a month since the prince announced the couple was in the early stages of a romantic relationship. Certainly, the couple will want to spend lots of time together. Christmas at Sandringham would be the most private place to do so.
Kate Middleton reportedly met Meghan when the actress visited Prince Harry at Nottingham Cottage on the grounds of Kensington Palace. Meghan was spotted carrying groceries from Whole Foods to Kensington Palace. A self-avowed foodie, Meghan probably whipped up a fantastic dinner for Harry, William and Kate.
While Prince Harry was touring the Caribbean on behalf of Queen Elizabeth, Prince William issued an unprecedented statement about Harry’s romance with Meghan Markle. All though Meghan’s name was not mentioned in the statement, the wording was obvious. Royals do not address the private family affairs.
Fresh off his weeks’ long tour of the Caribbean, Harry is the most beloved and popular Royal right now. The public also sees Harry as the hardest working of the Royal Family, second only, perhaps, to Queen Elizabeth.
Since returning from Canada the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge appearances have been spotty. The Cambridge’s have once again lapsed into their work-shy ways. The public outcry over Kate’s recent last minute cancellation of a Royal engagement at the annual EACH gala dinner has been quite loud.
There are a few obstacles that could stand in the way of Prince Harry marrying Meghan. The list includes not only the fact that Meghan is American and an actress, but she is divorced and a Roman Catholic.
Meghan Markle’s faith isn’t necessarily an obstacle, though. Approximately a year ago the rules about senior members of the Royal Family marrying a Catholic were changed. Harry and Meghan’s children would not inherit the throne if the children were raised in the Catholic faith.
Harry is so far down the line of succession does it really matter if the prince’s children are raised Catholic? Probably not. Though Megan will most likely be forced to give up her lifestyle blog as well as her acting career.
It’s going to be a big year for Kate Middleton. The Duchess of Cambridge’s sister Pippa Middleton is marrying James Matthews, reportedly in May 2017. There’s a good chance that Kate Middleton may have not only a brother-in-law, but also a sister-in-law by the end of 2017. Check CDL daily for your dose of hot Royal news!
