‘Nashville’ spoilers for the season 4 finale, entitled ‘Maybe You’ll Appreciate Me Someday,’ reveal that we’ll get season finale action rather than series finale level closure and may, in fact, leave us with a cliffhanger. Since the Season 4 finale was shot prior to the cancellation announcement, the episode was crafted with another season in mind. There is a slim hope that another network or digital outlet might pick up the show since it’s being shopped around, but this is not likely.
Cash Grey (Jessy Schram) continues to push her own agenda, living vicariously through Maddie Conrad (Lennon Stella), and takes her protégé to New York City to meet with the Lennox Hill label. Rayna Jaymes (Connie Britton) can’t take this and makes a move to protect her daughter.
Rayna apparently had a bad experience with someone from the label and pics from the episode show Rayna in NYC having a face-to-face with a female record executive. Emancipated or not, Rayna is determined that Maddie won’t go through what she went through at the same age.
Rayna also shares the stage with daughter Daphne Conrad (Maisy Stella) and they perform together. It looks like Rayna and Deacon Claybourne (Charles Esten) may have worked things out because the promo shows them holding hands, eye gazing, and sharing a romantic smooch.
Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere) has to decide how to publicly address the circumstances surrounding Jeff Fordham’s (Oliver Hudson) death and says, “It’s time for me to take responsibility.” She already came clean to Layla Grant (Aubrey Peeples) but now wants to put it all out there.
The problem is, it’s Oscar season and Juliette has to run a gauntlet of interviews with this issue hanging over her head. Does Juliette feel that losing Avery Barkley (Jonathan Jackson) was karmic payback for lying about Jeff’s death? But will coming clean cost her a shot at the golden trophy?
Will Lexington (Chris Carmack) finally steps up and owns the gay country singer issue. He’ll face off with Cynthia Davis (Mandy Turpin), the homophobic hater with a talk show, and let’s hope he holds his own. There are protestors to deal with and Will is ready to stand up for himself.
What helps is that the guy Will loves, ex-BF Kevin (Kyle Massey), is at Will’s side when he has to cope with the crowd of angry people. Looks like Will steps up to represent the community at last and will get love from one side and hate from another.
Also, will The Exes break up? Just after Gunnar Scott (Sam Palladio) beds Autumn Chase (Alicia Witt), Scarlett O’Connor (Clare Bowen) tells Gunnar she’s in love with him. This is what he’s been waiting for but will they get together or end things?
