Nina Dobrev is no longer thinking about ‘The Vampire Diaries’ as she moves on with her career. In fact, the Hollywood starlet was spotted partying it up wit her co-star Vin Diesel after promoting her latest big-screen offering, ‘xXx: Return of Xander Cage,’ in Brazil this past week.
The 27-year-old actress is currently traveling the world as part of her media blitz to promote the movie with Vin Diesel and Michael Bisping. Nina looked both happy and relaxed while making her way through Sao Paulo airport with Nina before meeting up with fans and the press to talk about their action-packed film.
Many sources say that after going back-and-forth with ‘The Vampire Diaries’ producers about a possible return, she’s simply moved on. Nina wants a future on the big screen rather than on television and that’s why she’s no longer answering press questions about the show.
In fact, during an interview at the American Music Awards, Nina was asked whether or not she would be reprising her role as Elena Gilbert on the hit television show. She made it pretty clear that the final decision wasn’t up to her. She told reporters with a smirk, “That’s a very good question, you should ask the producers, you should ask the powers that be above.”
Showrunner Julie Plec said that she would like to have Nina Dobrev back on the show, but that the only thing holding her back was her filming schedule. At this point, no one knows whether or not Nina will be back for the finale episode or if she was indeed shunned by producers. Of course, viewers will simply have to wait and see.
Nina Dobrev is making it clear that returning to ‘The Vampire Diaries’ is no longer on her agenda. In fact, she’s moved past it and instead is focusing on her Hollywood career. Sources say that Nina would rather put her energy in her future big-screen projects than trying to please producers by working her schedule around them.
