The official trailer for the Netflix original series ‘The Crown’ season 1 exposes Queen Elizabeth’s loveless marriage to Prince Philip. The series, which will be available beginning November 4, portrays Her Majesty as a cold and uncaring mother who always put duty before family.
‘The Crown’ reveals that The Duke of Edinburgh was forced into the role of the invisible husband and has resented it for the couple’s entire marriage. ‘The Crown’ suggests that Prince Philip was a serial cheater, sleeping with whatever woman caught his eye.
Is it any wonder Prince Charles entered into a loveless marriage of his own with Princess Diana? Is it any wonder that Charles continued his affair with Camilla Parker-Bowles during his entire marriage to Diana? Observing Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh’s loveless marriage and knowing dad was cheating on mum made it okay for Charles to do the same, at least in his own mind.
Since marrying Kate Middleton, the Duke of Cambridge has made every attempt to put marriage and family first. After having a front row seat to Diana and Charles’s disaster of a marriage, of course William would strive to be a better husband and father than Prince Charles ever was during the years he was married to Princess Diana.
Kate Middleton has often been criticized for being lazy and work shy with a slim calendar of Royal responsibilities. The Duchess of Cambridge has made no secret that she and Prince William are hands-on parents to Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
The latest criticism about Kate and William’s marriage is that the Cambridge’s have amped up the PDA during their Royal Canadian Tour and it’s all a PR stunt. That very well could be. We wouldn’t put it past Kensington Palace to demand the couple act as loving as possible to carry on some kind of charade.
But we have to ask the question. Is it at all possible that Kate Middleton and Prince William really do love each other? Are the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge truly concerned and involved parents?
It’s not only Prince Charles’ marriage that ended in disaster because Royal responsibilities took precedence over everything. Three out of four of Queen Elizabeth’s children’s marriages ended in divorce. Not a very good track record for the Royals.
Maybe the second in line to the throne decided love, marriage, and family would come before duty. Why should Prince William and Kate Middleton have a loveless marriage and be cold, distant parents when it will probably be decades before the Cambridges are crowned King and Queen?
