Kate Middleton’s two darling children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, are two more members of the British royal family who possibly won’t be at Pippa Middleton’s wedding to James Matthews next year. There’s new speculation that Queen Elizabeth doesn’t want any member of the royal family – with the exception of Prince William and Kate Middleton – attending the wedding, along with the royal children.
While no one knows for sure who will be at Pippa’s wedding and who will not, critics and royal watchers know that the socialite won’t be able to count on her royal sister to give a helping hand the day of the festivities. And it looks like her two children won’t have any role in one of the most important days of their aunt’s life.
Pippa’s mother Carole Middleton was hoping that Prince George and Princess Charlotte would at least be able to walk down the aisle with her, but there’s a slim chance of that even happening.
While there’s no doubt that Kate Middleton won’t be participating in Pippa Middleton’s wedding to James Matthews at all, it’s surprising that her two children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, won’t have any role in their aunt’s ceremony, either. After all, both Prince George and Princess Charlotte are old enough to serve as ring bearer and flower girl and would no doubt make excellent accessories to Pippa’s wedding.
Clearly, the decision has been made by none other than Queen Elizabeth to keep her great-grandchildren out of the wedding. The Queen doesn’t want any member of the royal family – with the children included – making media and tabloid headlines for being in a wedding that is nothing more than a celebrity social event.
Plus, Prince George will one day serve as the future King of England. The Queen would rather not see him photographed at a wedding, surrounded by James Matthews’ family along with D-list reality stars and socialites, who will all of course be there.
It wouldn’t be surprising if both Prince George and Princess Charlotte stayed home the day of the wedding altogether. While Prince William and Kate Middleton have to attend no matter what – the Duchess’ one and only sister is the one who is getting married – other members of the British royal family, like Prince Harry and the children, won’t be in attendance, as per Queen Elizabeth’s strict demands.
This is not what the Middleton family was hoping for, especially since everyone is already talking about how Pippa Middleton’s wedding will be London’s social even of the year. For Prince William and Kate Middleton to even be there briefly will once again prove how disliked the Middleton are by the Queen and the rest of the royals.
