Randy Meisner, former band member of the iconic group the Eagles, is currently on a 72 hours psychiatric hold and suicide watch – following the shocking death of his wife Lana Meisner. According to a report from TMZ, the cops checked Randy in to a mental hospital after the Eagles guitarist expressed that he wanted to kill himself – and was clearly suicidal. Law enforcement told TMZ that Meisner was “distraught and unstable.”
The death of Randy’s wife Lana Meisner is seriously something out of a True Crime episode. Lana was supposedly rummaging through her closet and she moved a rifle bag with a loaded shotgun in it. According to reports, the gun went off not once, but twice, and shot Lana in the face and killed her. Seriously, what are the odds that a gun would fire TWICE – and just happen to be positioned perfectly to shoot the woman in the head?
The internet is already ablaze with conspiracy theories, and Lana’s death is being compared to the infamous OJ Simpson murder trial. Here’s where it gets even more fishy. Less than two hours before Lana accidentally shot herself in the face while looking for a pair of shoes in her closet, she had called 911 for a domestic disturbance and told the dispatchers that Randy Meisner was acting erratic and waving around a BB gun – notably a different gun than the one that shot her in the bizarre accident.
The police are still investigating the death – but, so far, it doesn’t look like murder charges will be filed and it is being treated as an accidental death.
