Ronda Rousey almost committed suicide after she lost to Holly Holm! Ronda Rousey joined Ellen DeGeneres on Tuesday February 16, and dropped a BOMB on UFC fans. As you all know Ronda was the Queen of the UFC until November 2015, when Holly Holm infamously knocked her out and took the title.
During her interview with Ellen, Ronda confessed that after she lost to Holm – she actually contemplated taking her own life.
In the real and raw interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Ronda Rousey made this chilling confession while she fought back tears: “Honestly, my thought I was like, in the medical room and I was down in the corner. I was sitting in the corner like, What am I anymore if I’m not this? And I was literally sitting there and thinking about killing myself and that exact second. I’m like I’m nothing … what do I do anymore and no one gives a shit about me anymore without this.”
Obviously Ronda was able to pull herself together and not try to commit suicide, and she gushed to Ellen DeGeneres that it was all because of her boyfriend (also a UFC fighter) Travis Browne. Rousey realized that she had to keep going for Travis, and so that she could “have his babies” some day.
Interestingly, according to Ronda the reason she was so distraught over her loss to Holm had nothing to do with the fact that she had just gotten knocked out – it was because she was exhausted and that was her third title first in 9 months, “and no one has ever attempted that.”
Ronda goes on to describe in detail what it felt like when she was knocked out by Holly Holm – and other random and semi-ridiculous questions that Ellen DeGeneres asked her during the interview.
What do you think of Ronda Rousey’s confession? Is she looking for pity and making excuses for her loss, or do you actually believe that she contemplated suicide after her loss to Holly Holm? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
