#TeamScorpion starts with a man watching a drone go down in a remote area. He goes to it and sees there is a packet of drugs on it. Toby has a puppet on his hand and is mocking Walter. They are in couples therapy. Walter uses his Toby puppet to mock him.
They are with Dr Rizzuto. Walter brings up Happy and the doc digs into it. He tells them to be honest then asks Toby if he’s getting with Happy. Toby says oh crap after Walter says no fraternizing at work. Ralph and Happy help Sly prep for The Price is Right.
He says he’s going to be there next week. Toby and Walter come back from their session glaring. Happy asks what happened and Toby says they need to talk. She’s upset that he told Walter about their relationship. Toby then tells Paige and Sly.
He says they are Quintas, Team Scorpion’s own Brad and Angelina. Sylvester is stunned when Toby says they touched parts many times. Happy says it’s no big deal. Paige asks if Walter knows but he says Cabe is coming in with a federal drug case with the Federales form Mexico.
The Federale says a rancher found the drugs on a crashed drone. It’s gold mule – a very serious heroin. Cabe tells them how active this is and how gang wars are being sparked over this product. The Federale shows them many of the victims of these crimes.
The agent wants them to help deal with the drones. He says they have been able to stop trucks and other avenues, but the drones may be a test for a new delivery system. Walter says it’s a smart tool for delivery since they are too small to be spotted.
Walter says radar won’t catch them since it’s fine tuned to ignore small things like birds. Walter has an idea of how to knock down the drones. He says it would stop them at the border. There’s a practice run they think is coming so the gun they’re building must work.
They want to use Sly’s drone and he’s upset. Paige checks off a list of components they need. Happy tells Toby to leave the love stuff alone before he ruins this. Toby says he has everything he wanted and is thrilled. Walter come over and interrupts them.
He tells Toby he has to stay back because there’s nothing there for him to profile. He says he’s a distraction to Happy and Walter says he has to decide between his job and Happy. He says they break up or one of them leaves the team. He says he wants an answer when he gets back.
Toby is annoyed and asks who the hell Walter thinks he is. The Federale says they have to go. Walter talks to the others about the project. Paige says she’ll stay with Toby and Cabe says he’ll work on Walter.
The team is in the desert ready to test their ray gun. Sly is upset as he watches his drone crash and fall from the sky. Sly runs off to grab it. Happy is watching for the drones approaching. Toby is monitoring from the garage and Paige tells Toby his remarks are what’s giving Walter pains about this.
Cabe tells Walter that he took risks for Paige just like Toby took for Happy. Paige reminds Toby that he ran off after Happy and ditched the mission. Paige tells him that the team has made them all better. Happy says the drones are coming.
Toby says it’s a sky full of them and not just a few. Walter checks on his binoculars and sees that the lead drone is weaponized. He shouts for Sly to take cover and he ducks down as the lead drone first shots at him.
Cabe aims the pulse gun but the drones are out of range. Sly gives thumbs up – he’s okay. Toby asks if Happy is okay and Walter says they all are. Cabe thinks the cartel may have known that the cops were on to them.
Toby says another wave is coming through. They pile up to leave and the Federale is angry they’re giving up. Sly says this shipment is a drop in the bucket. Sly says the pulse gun can’t knock out thirty. Cabe suggests a strategy. Walter has an idea.
They need to create a static path to narrow the approach. Walter says he thinks the other drones are following the main drone which is the only one with a live pilot. Walter says they can nail them one at a time. Happy gets ready to broadcast interference.
Toby says they’re coming. They see the swarm. Walter tells Happy to fire up the interference and she does. He drones change course and narrow into a line instead of a flock formation. Walter aims the gun at them. He takes out the lead one that’s weaponized then takes them down one after the other.
One gets past and Sly wonders where the drug runners get their drones. Walter says one of them is immune to their pulse gun and once the drug runners realize it, they can defend better. They go chasing the one drone that got away. It’s coming down to land.
They follow. Cabe says he’s going to go find the drone and wants Sanchez the Federale to watch their six. Walter goes with Cabe and Happy takes the wheel for a fast escape. Walter and Cabe creep to the ridge and they find drug runners unloading the drones that got through.
Walter points out the drone they need. One of the drug runners sees Cabe’s reflection in the back of the truck. Cabe runs with Walter and they fire at them. Happy pulls up in the truck and Walter runs for the drone. He grabs it and they make it to the SUV and take off.
Cabe shot out their tires so he hopes they can’t catch up. Their tire is shot out and they realize a weaponized drone is chasing them. Cave aims the pulse gun but it’s got no juice. The power cell is out. Paige says she called the Yuma police but they’re an hour away.
Cabe and Sanchez shoot at the drone and Cabe says stop the car. He says he can’t get a good shot while they’re in motion. Happy stops. The drone flies by then circles back at them. Cabe takes the shot and down it goes. He says John Wayne.
Happy can’t crank the car because the bullets hit the engine. Sanchez was also hit in the melee. Walter gets Cabe’s jacket to help stop the bleeding and Paige says medivac is 45 minutes. Happy says the engine is locked up.
Toby tells Sanchez to calm down. He tells them there’s a coyote shack a mile away. Walter says he and Cabe are going to try and take down the drug dealers. Toby tells Sly to get Sanchez to the shack and get him back on track. Walter and Cabe make a booby trap.
Happy helps Sly get the Federale to the shack. Toby tells them to check the wound. She says it’s bleeding and Toby says it may have nicked his liver and says stuff something in the wound that’s absorbent. Happy says she doesn’t like blood.
Sly runs out and grabs a cactus he saw outside that has spongy tissue to store water. He wrings out the water and runs back in with it. He tells Happy to shove it in and they argue. Happy puts it into the wound. Toby says his BP should rise if it worked.
Sly says Happy is outside puking but Sanchez is better. Toby says this mission could have used a doctor. Paige says Walter couldn’t have predicted needing a doc and Toby says Walter likes to predict everything and says Paige and Walter like the fraternization policy because it keeps them apart.
The drug lords approach the SUV and hear a cell phone. The booby trap goes off and Walter and Cabe kick their weapons away. Both drug runners are still alive. Cabe says they’re taking their truck and coming to get them but then another truck comes – the drug dealers also called for backup.
Happy tells Cabe they need to lose the trailer and Sanchez says there’s a switchback. He’s in bad shape and can’t breathe. His lips turn blue. Happy says the man is dying and tells Toby to tell them what to do to save him.
They race down the road and the drug dealers follow shooting them. Toby says the medivac chopper is coming but Happy has to help save Sanchez’s life. He says he’ll talk her through it. He says they have to drain a lung. Sly spots rubber tubing and Toby says find a nail.
He has them sterilize this with tequila. Toby says they have to put the tube into his chest. She takes a swig of the booze. Walter has an idea and has a gun. He leans out and shoots at a tree so it falls across the road blocking it.
Walter says he dropped the gun accidentally. Happy prepares to put the chest tube in while Sly puts the tube into the bottle. Toby says push the nail into Sanchez’s back. She asks if he’s crazy and he says she’s the most incredible person he knows and he believes in her.
He says she’s a world class engineer and the body is a machine. He says she needs to bleed the brakes. He tells her how to find the right spot. He tells her how to push the nail in between the ribs. She does it. Sly looks away. Toby says take the tube and slide it in next to the nail.
She says nothing much is coming out. He tells Sly to light the bottle up a bit and then they put the tube in. It caves and pulls out the oxygen and made a vacuum. Blood comes out and Sanchez coughs back to life. Toby tells Happy he’s proud of her and Paige says good job doc.
Walter says the drug dealers are back and Sanchez tells them there’s a bigger problem. They went the wrong way. They are in a box canyon and trapped. Cabe asks if Walter has any ideas but he has nothing that will help. Paige says we need to get them out.
Toby tells them he has an idea. The drug dealers get closer and tell them to get out. Cabe says we have to get out son. The drug dealers tell them they know they’re not alone and says tell me where’s your friends.
The drug dealer says they’re in the desert and no one can help them. Walter says he won’t tell them anything. The guy kicks and knocks down Walter. Cabe says leave him alone – he’s the boss. Sly gets the weaponized drone cranked and it comes out and they try to shoot it down.
Cabe gets a gun from one and Cabe says their friends will fire from the drone and he has no choice. The drug runner gives up. The medivac chopper shows up to pick up Sanchez. Later, Ralph is happy that Walter bought them a cotton candy machine.
Walter insists he didn’t order it and Toby says someone may have stolen his credit card. He whispers to Sly that there’s a Super Fun Guy pinball machine coming tomorrow. Happy is annoyed that Toby put tracking software on her phone but he says that’s how he saved her.
He says he almost lost her at the South Pole and it scared him. He says he’s been in love with her for years – she calls him Lenny and says he’s holding the bunny too tight. Happy says she likes him and he won’t lose her unless he pulls a stunt like that again. He says copy that. She hugs him.
Cabe comes in and says Sanchez will survive and the drug runners flipped on their bosses. Toby says the drug guys will find another way and Sly says they save 4287 lives at a minimum based on gang wars, ODs and more.
Walter goes to study the drone they captured to put into the report on the incident. Walter asks Happy and Toby that he hopes their relationship was resolved. They glare. Paige looks at them concerned. Paige goes up to see Walter.
She tells him Happy and Toby work better together now that they’re in a relationship. Paige says maybe the team is more like an evolving organism and says you have to change to thrive. He says the most adaptable to change that survives but Scorpion doesn’t need to change.
Happy and Toby comes up and they tell him their decision is that Walter sucks and they won’t quit and he can fire both of them. Toby says they’re a package deal now. He puts his arm around her and Happy says stop. Walter says they can stay but he’s docking Toby’s pay for the cotton candy machine.
Paige smiles and says she’s proud of Walter letting the team evolve. He says he hopes it works out because evolution is a messy business and says many evolutions lead to disasters. She smiles as he says he can keep an open mind.
Happy tells Toby she defended his honor. A delivery guy comes with jet skis for Walter. Happy says let’s go before you get fired.
THE END!
