Saturday Night Live landed the perfect dynamic duo for the January 23rd episode: UFC star Ronda Rousey as host and Selena Gomez as the musical guest. I will be the first to admit that I am far from in love with the SNL seasons of the more recent years. The older seasons were so much better. So much funnier. But, with that being said, bringing in someone like Ronda Rousey to host could be genius. Watching Rousey destroy her opponents is something we’ve become accustomed to. Of course, we’d like to see the goofy, “unarmed” side of this powerhouse of a woman. This could turn out to be quite entertaining!
Selena Gomez is always a breath of fresh air, a total class act that, well, never gets old. I am definitely looking forward to seeing her do some live performances of tracks off of her latest album, Revival. She is rather pumped about the appearance as well, Tweeting this morning, “Sooo I’m performing on @nbcsnl on 1.23!! What is life?? I couldn’t be more excited. GUYS.. SNL!!”
I am expecting that we will get to see the “Good For You” singer in a skit or two as well. If you haven’t already checked out Revival… do it!
As for Ronda Rousey and her schedule for 2016: We know that she has a rematch with Holly Holm at UFC 200 sometime in July. And it’s flying around that we will be seeing her in nothing but body paint for the 2016 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. I think she will be the perfect addition to the mix of gorgeous women we see in the yearly special edition.
Do you think that Ronda will make any big announcements while hosting on SNL? Will she break the news about an upcoming fight? How about a teaser of her Sports Illustrated issue? You can bet on the fact that she will make a joke of her defeat against Holly Holm. That’s the way you rise above and move upward and onward. You know she’s going to redeem herself big time when they go head to head in July. Just you wait and see.
