Actress Selma Blair enjoyed a relaxing Father’s Day trip to Mexico but her return journey turned into a nightmare. “He burns my private parts. He won’t let me eat or drink. He beats me. He’s going to kill me.” No, that isn’t a line from a movie script Blair was rehearsing. Instead, TMZ reports that these nonsensical words were uttered by Selma Blair during a breakdown on her return flight from Cancun to Los Angeles.
According to witnesses, Blair was sitting in first-class drinking wine that she had laced with something she mixed in herself. Sources told PEOPLE Magazine, “It looks like she had taken a combination of prescription medication with alcohol.” The source admitted they weren’t sure, “what sort of prescription medications.”
Whatever the combination was, it wasn’t good. Booze and drugs make for a dangerous cocktail. Why would Selma mix anything into her drink? According to fellow passengers, Selma Blair started crying. Two nurses, also passengers on the Monday afternoon flight, came over and attempted to help, searching her bags for pills.
The pilot notified the LAX tower that a passenger was mixing prescription medication with alcohol. When the plane landed, paramedics and the fire department boarded and took Selma Blair off on a stretcher before transporting her to a local hospital, the LA fire department told E! News. They responded to the call at 2:54 pm.
But Selma Blair wasn’t traveling back to LA alone. Accompanying her was her four-year-old son, Arthur Saint Bleick. They were in Cancun for a Father’s Day trip with Arthur’s father, Selma’s ex Jason Bleick. Sources told E! News that the trio looked relaxed, playing on the beach and enjoying the spa at the Hard Rock Hotel Riveria Maya.
A source at the hotel said young Arthur looked happy to be spending time with his parents and witnesses say that the four-year-old was, “giving his mom lots of hugs and kisses on their beach getaway.” Jason and Selma cozied up in a cabana with their son, laughing, playing and having a good time.
According to other resort guests, Selma Blair exercised daily and appeared to be having a healthy weekend. So why then, would she put pills in her drink (if that is what witnesses saw) while traveling with her son after such a wonderful weekend? This doesn’t make any sense. How terrifying must that whole experience have been for little Arthur?
The poor little guy probably didn’t understand why his mommy was crying, ranting crazily, and not feeling well. Plus, he must have been terrified when his mother was taken off the plane on a stretcher. Who took over care of the little boy while Selma Blair was taken for treatment of this incident? So far, Selma’s representatives have not issued a statement about the incident.
It would be nice to know that someone was there to comfort and care for Arthur Saint Bleick while his mother Selma Blair was being tended to by paramedics. What do you think?
