‘Supernatural’ spoilers for Season 11 Finale Episode 23 ‘Alpha and Omega’ on Wednesday, May 25 show that it may be Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) that takes out Amara (Emily Swallow) and he may have to drop a bomb on his immortal beloved to get the job done.
A famous French playwright once wrote, “God is dead… and I don’t feel so good myself” and that kind of sums up the starting point of the Season 11 finale. God’s not quite dead, he’s only mostly dead, but that’s enough to scare the gang of humans, witch, demon and angel into a drastic Hail Mary plan.
Dean and Sam Winchester (Jared Padalecki) explain to the rogue’s gallery of Castiel (Misha Collins); a dying, but not yet dead God; plus Crowley (Mark Sheppard) and Rowena (Ruth Connell) about the latest plan to take down God’s annoying sister once and for all.
The gang plans to gather souls and use it to assemble a bomb to “blow the Darkness to hell.” Rowena explains to Dean that he won’t carry the bomb – he’ll be the bomb. Looks like the mother of all witches is going to shove souls into Dean and he’ll blow up once he’s close enough to Amara to take her out.
Sam and Dean go to a creepy old building to gather up some less than savory souls to use as bomb components and the brothers wonder and worry if this extreme plan will work against the biggest super villains they’ve ever faced. Luckily, she has a crush on Dean.
Alpha and Omega means the “end and the beginning” and is the name of God in the New Testament book of Revelations. Season 11 of Supernatural has teased us with the end of days’ plot and it looks like we’ll finally see an end to Amara that sparks a new beginning in Season 12.
Supernatural has been renewed for Season 12 with Sam and Dean, so we know it’s not “THE END” for the brothers – and we hope only Amara is sacrificed in this episode. Looks like the gang will get an assist as the final showdown comes to an explosive conclusion.
Elizabeth Blackmore makes her first Supernatural appearance in the finale as Lady Antonia Bevell. She’ll also be featured in Season 12. You may recall Blackmore from “The Vampire Diaries” as heretic Valerie and would-have-been baby mama to Stefan (Paul Wesley).
No word yet on what Lady Toni will be doing, only that she’s from across the pond and will survive the chaos of the Supernatural Season 11 finale. She is supposedly a female version of the Winchester brothers, so perhaps she’s a high powered hunter.
There’s also talk that Mary Winchester (Samantha Smith), mom of Sam and Dean, might turn up in a ghostly capacity in the Season 11 finale. We also know that Misha Barton and Mark Sheppard are confirmed for Season 12, so Cass and Crowley will survive…
