The Haves and Have Nots cast is made up of the poor African-American Young family (Have Nots), the wealthy African-American Harrington family (Haves), and the powerful and affluent Caucasian Cryer family (Haves). Jim Cryer (John Schneider) and his wife Kathryn Cryer (Renee Lawless) are influential upper class with Jim being an Atlanta, Georgia judge. David Harrington (Peter Parros) and his wife, Veronica Harrington (Angela Robinson), are both lawyers with a gay son Jeffrey (Gavin Houston).
Hanna Young (Crystal Fox), a single mother, maid, and confidante to Kathryn, lives with her son Benny Young (Tyler Lepley). Despite the differences in social standing between families, they all experience overwhelming hardships and scandals and are totally dysfunctional.
As we left the families in the Season 3, Kathryn had just killed the local D.A. Jennifer Sallison (Shari Headley) at the Cryer mansion while Veronica watched. Benny needs to raise $2 million dollars to save his towing company. And Hanna’s daughter, Candace Young (Tike Sumpter), and Jeffrey worry about the police inspecting her backyard for a missing man.
Season 4 Haves and Have Nots spoilers reveal that the D.A.’s death, orchestrated by Kathryn, has left Veronica completely speechless. Veronica is a formidable attorney and never intimidated by anyone, but she’s definitely terrified of Kathryn now. Kathryn promises to kill Veronica if she does not get her cleared for the crime of murder. Veronica is shaking in her boots. And she should be.
Kathryn is taken off to jail and immediately demands to be out on bail, no matter the price, and Veronica is running around in circles trying to honor her wishes. Veronica will have to try an insanity defense to free Kathryn. Meanwhile, Jim is stunned at what his wife has done and is calling in all the favors he’s owed.
While Jeffrey is visiting Wyatt Cryer (Aaron O’Connell) in the hospital, he tries desperately to contact Candace to warn her that the police are searching her home looking for a missing person. Unfortunately, the missing person is also a dead missing person and buried in the backyard. Jeffrey and Candace are petrified that the police will locate the body.
The police fail to locate the body and decide to come back with some high-end electronics to scan the premises. But one of the cops will locate the body and not share it with the rest of the force.
Poor Benny, with his head in his hands, is desperate to understand why he needs 2 million dollars to keep his towing company and not lose it to the bank. His sister, Candace, bought him the towing company after she blackmailed Jim Cryer. But Jim is one step ahead of Candace and has recovered his money, leaving Candace and Benny penniless and homeless.
Benny will move on home again with his mother, but Candace will not be that desperate and Candace is not to be outdone. She goes to Benny’s partner, Mitch Malone (Brett Davis), who has ties to the mob and makes a move to take down the noble Jim Cryer.
