‘The Voice’ Season 10 spoilers tease that one artist may have an edge over the others, thanks to a possible push from the network. Has NBC done all they can to rig the show for a win for Christina Aguilera as coach? ‘The Voice’ has never had a female coach win the competition – is this the year?
Alisan Porter is a big talent, for sure, but she’s got stiff competition. Team Blake’s country sensation, Adam Wakefield, has been killing it on the iTunes charts, but Team Christina’s Alisan Porter has received a lion’s share of press coverage compared to other Season 10 competitors.
Once Christina landed Alisan as her star performer, has NBC gone all-out to call attention to the Curly Sue child star to try and tip the scales in favor of a Team Christina win? It would be easy enough to encourage tons of press opportunities for Alisan Porter given her child star past.
While there have been three female artists win out of the last nine seasons, there has never been a female coach take an artist to a win at the finale. Christina has reportedly been annoyed that Gwen Stefani has continued to have a major presence in Season 10, despite not having a judge’s chair.
And now Christina is taking Season 11 off entirely. Is the network doing all it can to secure a win for Christina to ensure she returns for Season 12? Of course, Alisan Porter is a star in her own right and her talent alone could secure her a Season 10 win on ‘The Voice.’
But what could work against Alisan and secure a win for Team Blake’s Adam Wakefield is that all season long Alisan has been discussed as the likely victor. This could harm Alisan’s voting turnout because fans might not feel like their vote is needed so they may not go to great lengths to help her.
Secondly, America doesn’t like to be told what to do and when viewers have heard all season long that Alisan is the assured winner, that may be turning them off and that might encourage them to vote for another contender instead.
If NBC is trying to maneuver press coverage and interest to score a win for Team Christina, they may be disappointed. Although Alisan Porter is standout, Adam Wakefield has proven to be a solid dark horse candidate that could score yet another win for Coach Blake Shelton.
What do you think fans of ‘The Voice’? Are you voting for Alisan Porter, Adam Wakefield, Hannah Huston or Laith Al-Saadi? Who is your fave to win and do you think press coverage has been slanted to give Alisan Porter an unfair advantage?
